Hello All,
I'm finally back from Denver, CO and man what a great trip it was. I went with my Girlfriend (Ski Birdie) if I can ever get her to join.
We got there on Christmas Day. Thurday we went skiing at a little hole in the mountain called "Ski Cooper" where I did ok, falling only once. Of course I only did the bunny hill.
Friday we went Skiing at a much larger mountian/ski resort called Winter Park. Tried many of the Green slopes. Fell about a dozen times. If anyone says that Skiing is easy to learn, I have something to tell them. Of course, I was told that was pretty normal. I fell on time and hit my elbow on my ski.
Saturday we tried Snowboarding at a little beginner Mountain called Loveland. OMG. Snowboarding is definatly harder then skiing. I was on my arse more than on my snowboard. By the time we finished, My butt was killing me. Also agrivated the bruise that was on my elbow from the day before and twisted my knee and ankle. Ski Birdie had never Snowboarded either and she was on her but just as much. She bruised her Tail Bone. After lunch, I was done. Ski Birdie traded her Board for some Skis and went back on the slopes. I was in the bar watching the Giants game and having a few while waiting.
Sunday was of course my favorite of the days we were there. We rested until about 12 or so. Then headed to Invesco Field for the pre game tailgate for the Broncos game... and what a game it was. Invesco field is just incredible, I will post my pix of it when I get them. The game had everything I wanted to see. Great Offence. Clinton Portis who will without a doubt get rookie of the year this year ran for 220+ yards. Eddie Mac had an incredible 50+ yard catch. What a great game to see. However, since our wonderful suck arse Atlanta Falcons couldn't beat the ever sucking Clevland Browns, they didn't make the playoffs. Man, that sucked. Guess that's what happens when you are in the toughest division in the NFL.
Monday, we were shown around Denver by my good friend Marji that lives out there. What a wonderful city. The weather was beautiful. Monday was the only day that was cold. All the otherdays it was b/t 50 and 70 during the day. Of course we froze our ass off in the mountians.
It was a great trip. We had two incidents that were quickly resolved. The first was Friday where after lunch we went back to get my skis and they were gone. We filed a security report and turned it in to the store we rented them from. Two days later, Bowlergirl called me and told me we got a message on the answering machine saying that the skis had been returned.
Then Tuesday when we were leaving. Ski Birdie couldn't find her DigiCam. We called Marji who we stayed with and asked her to keep a look out then called Avis who we rented the car from and told them to check. Got on the plane, after getting off and getting our bags, she checked her "checkin" bag and it was right there. Lucky us.
Well that was the majority of it. We finished off the vacation with a great New years party.
Thank you Minah for a great Vacation!
Happy New Year everyone! |

Thank YOU for an amazing vacation! I had the best time...when we weren't falling that is... even then I was still laughing.
The trip was really awesome. If anyone has any other good ski places they know of, feel free to recommend. I have skied several other places. I think my favorite place was Albertville located in France. They had some awesome trails, which are my favorite to ski. Next would probably be Snowmass which is in Aspen, CO. I have skied a couple of places in Utah, which is really good, a couple places in Denver, also really good, and then in North Carolina....bad! Sorry, I think it was partly b/c I went with people who had no idea about skiing and also it was too early in the season and there wasn't enough snow. Plus there were only three lifts. :Oo:
So what's next? Ha HA! Scuba diving, white water rafting, and then....ahhhhh, we are falling.....out of a plane.....ahhh..... |

Glad to know that someone noticed I was gone! Ha! And you BOTH have been slacking! You should have passed me up by now! The shame! Anyway, I'm glad you had a good trip! Nothing like a little vacation!

Rev, I would have seriously bet money that you would have passed me in posts by now. I was really surprised to find you had not! You're a lot closer, though! If I were to take a vacation now you'd probably get me!
