They stole them because they're morons. I recall a simliar story the day the dreamcast released but at least that thief waited and tailed the victims from the store. I think that if I were going to rob the store I might take the cash tho.

Wow...some people I tell ya. Thank god there wasn't anyone like that when I picked up mine.
But then again, I picked up mine at a Target. Call it a hunch, but I don't think they would get too far in a Target. |

Agreed. I just thought it was humorous.
As a side note, combined with this... its just fact that some of the people buying them are just plain stupid. |

If I were going to steal an Xbox360 I would at least be creative about it.
1> buy it under a false name pay in cash at a game store three/ four towns over
2>weigh the whole thing. gut out the inards and replace them with whatever till I have the weight close enough that the store clerk won't notice
3>take it home transfer all the inards into my gaming tower( so far its I've moded in the N64/PS1/PS2/XBOX/ and a power gaming pc to boot.
4> return the "tweaked" system to the store for credit, buy a bunch of pre-owned games with te credit and go home. |
