Where have all the trees gone?!

So there I was, sitting at my kitchen table eating breakfast when all of a sudden I hear this loud crack... And then another. I got up to look outside and there they were. TRUCKS!!!! Full of TREES!!!! Right there in my back yard. They were just loading them up and taking them away! Bawl

They just moved from back yard to back yard, cutting them down and moving on to the next. It was just so depressing to see them all fall one by one... Poor trees.

Wait...How could they take trees out of YOUR backyard?

The property line in my subdivision cuts off about 7 feet into a big wooded area, and now there are only a few left. Crying or Very sad

I guess the art of building a house IN the trees is a lost art. You know they use to clear a plot of land surrounded by trees and build the house there with out taking out every living thing in sight. Taking out the trees is an enviornmental nightmare in many ways. We talk about conserving energy but yet the trees that help shade our houses in the summer are being thrown to the side for curb appeal. I'm sorry but I want a house shaded by trees so my cooling bill won't be so high. Ugh!!! Do you live in GA? They are awful about that there! Not only do they take out EVERYTHING, they level hills and mountains just for subdivisions. It's just disgusting!!

That reminds me of a time back where Ming and I used to live.

Across the street was a small area with a nice assortment of trees that a bunch of us and friends would play by all the time. One day, we got up and looked out the window as trucks began leveling the area. Soon after, a gigantic house went up in the space, leaving us saddened with the demolition of the trees across the street.

Figured i'd share the story with ya.

I know! It's so horrible! Yeah, I do live in GA. You're right, it's just horrifying how they are taking away all of natures beautiful things. Destroying everything they see for profit or astethics. I would much rather look out my window and see the forest and wildlife I used to than someone elses back yard. And it's not just in my subdivision either. Everywhere I go I'm seeing new gas stations and living complexes and stores... I know that it's progress but there has to be a line drawn somewhere.

My house has a bunch of trees in the backyard, but they're all oaks, so I could never build a treehouse for they were to tall....

I live in Ga 2....
