As some of you may know, I had to take my cat to the vet today. My cat had intestinal blockage due to consumeing a staple from the end of a ribbon which he attacked. He had started coughing and hacking Tuesday and I thought it was a hairball. Yesterday her threw up like every 20min (I'm not joking) so I made an appointment for him today. Today I was informed that I had to take him to the emergency clinic because he needed surgery. After charging for exam, 2 x-rays, and an IV (a grand total or 249USd) I was sent to the hospital. The hospital then told me they had to due surgery and it was going to be somewhere in the ballpark of 2,900USd. Since I cannot even afford lunch there is no way I could afford this. My other option was for them to keep him on IV fluids and and give him berolium (or something like that) and see if he could pass it. However it was highly unlikely and it would probably just make him suffer. I do not want a 5 month old kitten to suffer. My last choice was euthinasia. I had to kill my cat today. And they had the nerve to charge me 100USd for it. My cat. Whome I saved from a wood shed. Nursed back to health (even though it was only 7 days old). And cared for the most out of anything else that is mine. I had to kill it because I am not 21290938098509480984060 billion USd rich. I know it's not their fault but I.... i donno I just feel like... emo. I suggest those of you with pets go give them a hug. I cried and held my kitten so tight but I think you guys should do it more when you're not saying goodbye... |

That is so sad. I'm so very sorry for you. I hugged my kitties after I read this. I too have had to put a pet to sleep. I still miss my cat. At least he won't suffer anymore. I know what you did was hard but, given your situation, it was the right choice.
If you want to talk you know where to find me. |

I'm sorry to hear that Ryukku, I don't know what to say cos I've never have a pet due to allergy (I'm asthmatic) but I guess its better for her to put to sleep rather than suffering from the pain.

Ming and I had a painful experience last summer that lead to us having to put our pet ferret, Hobbes to sleep. It's quite painful, and we still haven't had another one for quite some time, since we really don't know if another ferret could replace the little runt.
Don't worry chica, it's a tough thing to do, but at least the little guy didn't suffer anymore. If anything, your cat's playing with Hobbes right about now. I can feel it.

Some of you may remember me losing my Chinchilla last year, that still hurts and I still miss him like hell, the vet reckoned he had a very very small chance of [pulling through and was willing to give it a try I'd of paid anything to help him, but it seemed worthless, even so, we left him with the vet overnight (in the end they didnt charge us because he was so weak) and he died in the early hours of th e morning, part of me is happy that I didnt have to watch him suffer, but at the same time I wish I could of held him as he died.
We found out what it was that made him so ill though, it was the hay we'd been giving him, the crop had become infected with a bacteria that can go unnoticed but it makes Chinchilla's REALLY ill. |
