Last tuesday i was leaving the computer lap on campus and looked in one section of the building i pass as i head to my car where we keep alot of robot gear. as i looked in i saw a huge amount of torn apart equipment and spare parts so i decided to step in and look around. turns out there had been a swap meet and lots of components and generic parts like power supplies and small motors were avail as long as i took them then and there... since i knew feign loved bots as much if not more than i did i called him and we made off like bandits. there was even a box of 100 motion sensors for security systems that we could take as many as we wanted. 12' range and very sensitive to any motion within that sphere. needless to say i had to take 4 to toy with...

Between my friends and relatives, we have enough engineering knowledge in various fields to start building an autonamous bot. All we need is the time and funding... Which are really one and the same...

I can test it if you build a frame style mech (i.e. Gundam, EVA, ZOE, Armored Core) rather than a full on robot like the thing in Robocop.

that would be the main thing....now who would like to see an RC Dalek? i am tempted to get the frame up and working to base it on this next week so i have something to it

well lets see... the body of the prototype is needing a new bracket to hold my servo and work has me drained...lord...atleast the controler is going on sale on www.towerhobbies.com. prolly going to use a 9 channel so i can expand out to full function on one controller. lets do a channel count...
1.forward/back
2.left/right
3.u/d eye stalk
4.l/r eye stalk
5.u/d arm plunger
6.l/r arm plunger
7. in/out arm plunger (modded antenna motor)
8. gun (mono control there since it will fire smoke or a tee shirt)
9. yet to be determined (may be dalek voice w/ flashing eye)

i think that will be good as a start of a plan. chan 3-8 will not be programmed till 1 and 2 work since the second is being a real thorn in my side. this will not be a cheap one for sure but atleast it ill be one worthmy time and cash. since i have been asked to donate it to the school colors will be a metalic setup of the school colors. a new update on the dalek. there have been negotiations between hudak and an outside group for some used floor scrubbers...they have independent wheel drives and battery banks with rechargers. also it looks like i am going to be given one to convert into the base of the dalek....plus i also have free access to the pneumatic actuator room for parts to move the plunger arm. now the fact i was let go from work is slowing down the progress...but i was defence industry with a democratic congress... it was only a matter of time b4 i was let go due to standard stats. but if you are curious this is what i used to build : http://www.datapath.com/specs/ET-3000.pdf
