Agreed!
Although now that the first week is over and there have been no more deaths in Mexico or the US all the news networks are being a bit more calm about it. It's only urgent, OMG let's panic when it's "breaking news" and they can profit off of death and destruction and fear.
You know what I say? fuck it.
That is why I no longer watch the news, except for my weather updates. |

your choice not to watch it. after all Weather.com make most news choices irrelevant given net access. i know Fox is arrogant but then again most of the other stations are failing in the ratings so the might be doing something right and maybe it is real confidence as a result.
anyways looking at the Flu with a historical perspective, Fall is the worry time as it is following a similar pattern of the 1918 flu. until then i am refusing to be concerned but still going to be vigilant. |

I find it very amusing that people will rush out and buy these worthless masks that don't even help 00.01% but condoms help prevent getting AIDS/HIV around 99.9% but you don't see people rushing out to buy those and when AIDS was just starting to become known, people still didn't treat condoms like the masks.
Fuck the media, they just frighten people, give bad stereotypes(cus honestly, you hear of a shooting and it's always almost 100% of the time a black male) This is why I say people are dumb or as Adolf once said "What luck for rulers that men do not think." |

The last several shootings I've heard about on the news have all been white guys. Actually, I can't remember the last time I heard about a black guy shooting up a place... |

One news media source = junk. Anyone who relies solely on one source of information is just screaming to be manipulated. Fox is quite possibly the most laughable of all the networks with their penchant for schoolyard name-calling tactics. I threw them out of rotation a long time ago as their snide, side-of-the-mouth comments grew too large to stomach. They only breed contempt to opposing opinions and ridiculously fuel subliminal xenophobia. WTG Fox News - Fair and Balanced!
There are no conspiracies or cover-ups honestly going on with this swine flu business - just slow news days so why not whip up a frenzy with something as insignificant as swine flu.
Here's a newsflash for ya:
~40,000 people die annually from something we all do daily.
Everyone stop doing this thing as it is of the utmost detriment to society. DO THIS IMMEDIATELY!

My father was really sick last weekend (no it wasn't swine flu), but he had fun with it and efven got an extra day off because rather then tell his boss simply that he was too sick to come in, he just started listing symptoms. lol I almost dropped my phone when he told me.
I guess what Im trying to say is for every few person out there trying to cause hysteria there is one or two out there trying to take life in a very humorous tone. |
