Anyone do this or know anything about doing it?
I've never done it before, but I've been thinking about it lately to get some of my old SNES favorites on my PSP that will never be released for it.
Can anyone tell me where to go to do this? How to learn how to do it? etc? |

I've done it, but it's really more hassle than it's worth to keep up with.
There's a guide on the playstation website.
The problem is that you have to get custom firmware, then whenever a new game comes out that forces you to upgrade, you have to do it all over again.
You have to use Lumines to downgrade your firmware to 1.5, then put in a custom firmware in it's place.
It's just a pain in the ass, so I stopped keeping up with it. |

Is that still the case Shino? I'm custom firmwaring my PSP when I recieve the stuff. Also I've been informed if your Sony firmware is over 3.5 or something to that effect, or you have a Slim model then you have to use something called a Pandorra's battery that resets your firmware to 1.5. |

Correct. The Slims have to have some weird stuff going on to get it to work. |

http://www.psp-hacks.com/ has a lot of stuff on the PSP hacking as well. They even have the most current M33 firmware and in it is a guide to hacking your firmware.
I bought a Slim PSP and it already had Firmware 2.80 M33 on it. I beleive 2.9X is the highest official sony firmware and 2.90 is the highest hacked firmware.
SNES emulation is alright, it's a bit slow most of the time, NES emulation is awesome on it as well as CPS 1 and CPS2 emulation as thats all I've really messed with. |

That is with both Slim and Phat PSP. I did it to upgrade the firmware that I had, which Shino had installed, because the old firmware wouldn't let me play Patapon.
But anyway, the newest firmware since 3.8 has a new feature that once a new hacked firmware comes out after the new official firmware, you can just use the Uplodater on the PSP and it will get you the right firmware.
To make the Pandora Battery is a hassle, but if you know what you're doing, it's easy. It took me like 3 hours to figure everything out, but I did it.  Gotz firmware 3.90 M334. |

Well I have someone sending me the latest M33 firmware, the software I need to put the PS1 games I own onto the PSP and the Pandora battery |

I mainly wanted to try to do it honestly for Breath of Fire 3 from PSOne lol. I know that it was released in Japan for PSP, but there is no scheduled release for an american version  And since I dont speak Japanese, as much as I would love to just import it, it wouldnt be as fun not being able to follow the story.
So I was just going to see if there is a way to get this one specific game lol. |

That's funny. I have this game. BoF3 came out in America for PS1, but you can't find it anywhere, not even for PSP. NOW... in Europe they re-released this game for PSP. So it's a port, just like they did with FFTactics. Just without extra stuff. That's the version that I have. I have a website where I download all my PSP games from, but you have to be a member and membership is closed right now. But I can share my stuff with you guys.
Also, Riva, it is better to have an extra Pandora battery than transforming yours and then back. Mostly because it takes time, you have to have the battery fully charged, and if you brick your PSP, you can unbrick it with a Pandora battery. |

Hmm...do you think I can import the english version if I can find it and play it fine on my PSP?
(btw- I have it on PSone, I just want it portable so I can play it at work. I'm a portable junkie now lol) |
