Wow, amazing that in all of the PO forums there is nowhere for non-video game topics. I wish someone would get on that. hint, hint
Anywho, I recently hooked up with a few guys here and along with some LAN parties we've been having weekly D&D sessions. Lately the adventures have become pretty uninteresting to me (fighting Spectral Knights at level 1 and dragons at level 5? And winning???) so i decided I would try to run my own game. I've been hooked on GURPS since I first played it so I got back into it. I'm currently working on a mod that converts card games (Magic, Pokemon, Yugioh, etc) and vidgames (Halo, Quake, Unreal, etc) into a full fledged RPG system. Once I get it working I'm going to lean on SOMESHINOBODY to get this thing incorporated into SOMEPOPLACE so people can play.
Anyone willing to test this thing should watch this space and give me a holla. |

Generic Universal Role Playing System
Yes I used to play it in High school. Good stuff. Actually I think I still have the starter book.
Let me know what you are thinking... maybe there is something we can integrate into the new site. |

Gurps was great until I wanted to fire a gun and the GM said, "You don't have the skill to fire that gun."
I replied, "It says right here firearms." To which he responded but it's a laser rifle." to which I said, "HA! I have Laser short range and laser long range." He replied, "It's a laser Carbine, Mid-range...You lack the skills to use it."
I then punched him in the face and killed his wife...She was a bitch anyway. |

Update on the project:
We're about to start the adventure this week (pending final character creation) and then I can get some real live feedback. So far, the rules of card conversion (of Magic and Pokemon) are here

They are NOT completely listed and I have to add some simple stuff (when turn ends, etc) but for the most part the number crunching is done, just needs to be finetuned a bit. |
