It looks as if we don't get to choose the server we are on. We will have to give everyone a pass code so they can get to the server that we are on. Man that really sucks... why would they do that... just let us choose the freaking server.
ok 3 choices for plans of action.
1) Cobbi - can you try to buy a pass and see if the servers and stuff are the same and see if we can get on the server you are on? Since you are on the JP version, this may be a problem, but we can try it.
2) Sciler - you were playing the beta, can you see if you can buy a pass and check if your server is on the actual server list or if you are on the beta server.
3) We can designate a person that we know is getting the game the day ti comes out to go create a character then immedialty buy a pass and put it up on the board. Then 5 people go on with the passes and do the same, eventually we will have enough passes up here where everyone can get one.
Thoughts?
Anyone have any other ideas.
Does anyone have the day off the day it comes out and was planning on buying it and playing it pretty much throughout the day.
Personally I will not be getting it until Thursday so I'm out for option 3.
We should figure something out before the game comes out and try to get everyone on the same server. |

further information from stratics:
"First of all, there will most likely be new servers for the North America release but the servers will be located in Japan like all of the other servers. New players should not worry though because high level players will not be allowed to integrate with the new servers until they get a chance to get set into their own economy. This will enable the new players to have a fresh start if they so desire."
option1 - possible, but most likely quite costly due to the already established, and high-end economy.
option2 - the beta has ended, and sciler was on the beta test server. |

Yeah I figured it was either going to have to be option 3 or another suggestion from someone else. |

that method has been patched and supposedly no longer works |

Good luck Afro. I don't think that works anymore.
And WPs are pretty expensive... at least for a new character. It'd take a lot of game time to get enough money to buy one from the start.
Odds are, if they do put up these new servers, most of the new peeps will end up there anyway.
I'm hoping that my JP account will be available when I get the NA version. I should have enough for a few WPs or maybe even a linkshell. |

I read that they are going to make them cheap at first and then make them more expensive as the community grows.
But how cheap is cheap?
It is seeming more and more like I'm just going to stick with SWG for now.
Why can't they just do it like PSO where you get to choose the server when you log on? |

So it is now that you can only play with 5 other people? I guess oclored me ocnfused as I just preordered my copy and am wanting to see if we can all meet up but from what I'm reading it says we can only have 5 people (other than ourselves). What kind of crap are they trying to pull? |

if unastrike or cobalt katze can finance, then that is surely the easiest method.
on the other hand, rumours have stated that worldpasses will be sold for a couple hundred gil in the beginning, which a beginning character can make by doing starter quests.
thus option3 would work well so long as everyone is willing to work together in the beginning to bring everyone to the same server.
1 world pass is good for 5 friends.
exponential growth:
1po invites 5 po's @200gil, 5 po's invite 25 po's @200Gil... etc.
--or--
division of labour:
1 po invites 5 po's @200gil, 5 po's invite 5 additional po's @40gil... etc. |

Ah, so you can buy one world pass and it's good for 5 different folks. Gotcha. Well now it doesn't sound half bad. If I get mine in first I wouldn't mind it helping set it up.
