Two more days trekking through the desert leads the two to the site of the battle, where one tall rock, about four feet high, stands. Demonic dismounts from the sheephorse, which now resembles a camel more than a horse, and pats it on the rump to send it on its way, following which he hops onto the rock and turns to face Dusk.

"There is an oasis a mile to the north if you want a drink. If not, I'll get on to explaining the rules."

"Thank You, I think I will try some of that water."
Dusk began to ride towards the Oasis.
He grinned. Water, and maybe more.

The oasis is the usual palm tree and lake. Nothing special. Demonic waits for Dusk in the meantime, playing Solitaire with a pack of cards made out of stiffened sheepskin.

Dusk fills a cantina of the water and smiles.
"Alright. I'm ready."

Demonic stands as Dusk returns, nodding.

"The battle, then, will commence. There are three rounds to this fight--the first will be a sheer battle of unarmed martial ability. No special tricks, no weapons. Got it? Good. The second round will be nothing but weapons. No special abilities. If your weapon has some special ability that you can't help, ditch it. If that leaves you with no weapons at all, then there will be no round two." After pausing a moment to take a breath, he goes on with, "Round three will consist of an all-out free-for-all. If you have any questions, ask them now."

He hops down from the rock, and sheds his breastplate and sword-belt as he lands.

Dusk unclipped his Gunbelts and wrapped them in his Poncho with the Phoenix embroidery.

"When does one round end and the next begin?"

"When one of us gives up or is knocked out. If neither of us admits defeat before sunset, then the match ends at sunset and we'll call it a draw. Now, are you ready to begin?"

Dusk nodded and took a battle stance.
He hadn't expected this but he figured he could survive.
He wasn't sure of the other's fighting skill but Dusk had won his share of brawls. He could fight dirty. That was the only hope he had.

Demonic wastes no time, stepping forth as soon as the match begins and throwing a simple attack; nothing more than a right hook for Dusk's jaw.

Dusk ducked to the left. Years of dodging bullets alllowed for the dodge of a simple punch to seem mild by comparison. Dusk followed up with an uppercut.
