If you are into Portable gaming like I am, this is a good week for you. Or a bad week if you are looking at your pocket.
DS gets 2 games added to successful franchises and the PSP gets 3 new exclusive ones.
I know I'm getting Mario Kart, and either Legend of Heros or Kingdom of Paradise. (This is along with Dragon Quest VIII for PS2 which is also scoring 9s across the board).
A lot of other stuff came out for both systems. This is the biggest release week for both platforms, but these are the big ones.
DS
Mario Kart (Racing)
Current average score: 9.2
Sonic Rush (Platform)
Current average score: 8.8
PSP
Infected (1st/3rd Person Shooter)
Current average score: 7.6
Kingdom of Paradise (Action RPG)
Current average score: 7.9
Legend of Heros (Traditional RPG)
Current average score: 8.0 |

I won't be able to get Sonic Rush till i go back home at least.
I do have to say with my experience so far this is the best Mario Kart I've ever played. Between all the retro cups, unlockable characters and the new engine I'm very happy. It's not as bouncy as Double Dash which I hated. It feels more like MK64 as far as physics are concerned. Another new addition is the jetstreams. If you're tailing someone you actually move faster since you aren't taking the brunt of the wind breaking on your kart. If you're a big car and there's a tiny car in front of you, you can actually ram them from behind which is awesome. There's a few new items which I haven't tried myself but I've been hit by blooper ink and hit by a Bullet Bill item so far. |

Whatever it is, it's pretty fun.
Dashing is actually useful again which is nice as well.
I've been playing the Retro cups mostly, they've taken all the best courses from the SNES, N64, Cube incarnations of the game and put them into a series of retro cups. There's also a mission mode which is kinda cool. You fullfill certain requirements like "Collect 10 coins" or "Dash four times in one laps time" and each mission set is ended with a Boss Battle. |
