Especially people that like to break into your car in the middle of the night and steal your stereo, mess up your window, break stuff, and make your car un-driveable. I am so frustrated. I have no money to fix this and my insurance doesn't cover this. *SCREAMS* I had to deal with the police this morning and get my car towed. I don't want to even know how much it's going to cost to fix the car. It didn't help that I was rushing out the door to try and get to school to take a Greek language test this morning... At least my professor was very understanding and is letting me retake the test later. As funny as it usually sounds to me, I honestly feel violated. I'm so upset, I can't see straight. *sigh*  |

Well perspective-wise it sounds more like you should focus your anger on the single person that broke into your car. Plus your professor was nice enough to let you take your test at another time which is a people liking quality. Though i'm sorry to hear of the incident and hopefully it'll work out. |

What the fuck! It should! That's retarded. I would start looking for a new insurance company.
That's happened to me before. Only the didn't make the car undrivable.

Happened to me when I was in school(that is why the back left window of my car is not tented). I know exactly what you are saying. After that it didn't feel like my car anymore.
I did not have full coverage so theft and damages were not covered.
They got a nice haul when they got into my car. Between my camera, audio equip, tools and school supplies I had to replace it cost me over $2500 in just stuff. Not including the $125 for the window.
Here is the thing that really pissed me off. I gave up a nice penny to put 2 pair monster cable RCAs in my car. When I looked in the trunk of my car I saw the ends of the RCA cables. At least that was one thing I didn't have to replace. A couple of days l8r I was talking to one of my friends and I picked up the RCA ends and they cut the RCA cables and placed them back in my trunk!!!
So they cut the RCA cables then detached them from the crossover and placed them back in my trunk..... ::grrrrr::

I guess "hate" is a strong word, but given my frustration, I'd even settle on "loathe" at the moment. I really prefer to be alone most of the time. I try to avoid "people" and my lone-wolf self is often very misanthropic. It's just who I am. Those that know me well in real life know my usual sarcastic tone, so maybe that doesn't come across well in text. I'm a cynical little witch, what can I say.  Thanks very much for your concern though! And you're right about my professor, he's a wonderful man, but he's honestly not human. He's a god or something. Or an alien.

Yeah, I have very minimal insurance at the moment, doesn't cover the theft and such. It was just a crappy 91 Honda Accord, station wagon / hatchback or whatever you want to call it. I'm pretty sure they were trying to hotwire/steal it, but gave up and went for the easy steal by just taking the stereo. Now I'm just paranoid... Was it someone I know? Had they been watching me? Or was it just a petty thief that was cruising by? It's a gated apartment complex, but I know that doesn't mean much.
K-chan's going to be my ride for the next couple of days, heh...
Thanks for the concern everyone, I just needed to let off some steam. On top of grad school apps and homework, plus tons of other obligations, this was really the last thing I needed. We'll see how much it ends up hurting the wallet...  |

Yeah I know how you feel, for sure. Last week befor I graduated high school, I walked out to my truck to find the left back window compleatly busted out, and my CD player jacked.
Honestly I didn't care about the CD player as it was worth $10 tops, what I was really pissed about was i had to repleace the entire rear window assembaly costing me nearly $300...
Oh and did I mention that THE FUCKING DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED WHEN THE BUSTED MY SHIT |

yea...thieves tend to not check the doors before they bust it open...im sure they would save LOTS of money on victims having to spend the money on replacement if they would just check the doors first...there are enough dumb people who don't lock the doors. I know most of teh town of westport doesn't do that...just cause they dont feel like its really worth anything.
As far as theft goes, I haven't really been the victim of theft, save for one occasion where 30 bucks was taken from my gym locker (figures...the day i forget to bring the lock...). They caught the kid though...and what pissed me off was the fact that he tried to tell me that the money was actually his, and that he took my money. All i know is that i was about to get up, drive to his house, drag him out, and beat him over the head with newspaper, saying "no! no!" at him with full force.
But ya...the fact that people do that in the first place is annoying. Though being paranoid is just gonna lead ya to getting stressed. If there is one thing that my family taught me umpteen times...it was to lock the doors. Now, while that doesn't stop a brick or a bat going through the window, it can sometimes deter a criminal. That, and i drive a dodge neon. As far as who it was, it was probably just a petty thief, looking for getting money off of some goods to pawn off and make a quick buck. Pisses me off...if they would get real jobs, it would probably benefit them better.
