I, along with a few other students, applied for a grant for a research project, funded by the Freeman Foundation. I was just notified by my professor that I and two of the other people that applied, along with him, will be going to Japan-- yay! The trip will take place during the first three weeks of July. All of our expenses will be paid out of a budget of $22,000 for the trip. We will spend two weeks in Hokkaido and five days in Tokyo. We are each conducting our own research on the Ainu of Hokkaido and will be expected to complete a scholarly report of our findings upon returning to the States. I'm excited and nervous and just, wow. I just wanted to share. ^_^ More details to come soon!  |
