Okay, so on the 4th, there was this grandoise event in downtown Portland, OR, where basically everyone in the world was invited to a pillow fighting extravaganza.
I meant to post about this earlier in the week, but i've been busy, so here's some pictures from me, and some links ripped off Scrum's LJ.
I was totally there, but Scrum didn't hear about it in time to get off work (alas).
regardless, I deemed it newsworthy enough to repost here on the blue, as it were, so without further ado:

Over time we found ourselves wading through pillow innards.
The more savage warriors rebuilt their armies from the blood and bones of past empires.
how many people out their can say that they had a pillow fight with 800 other people? What a bunch of nutters.
ALSO: i took more pictures, but they're really blurry.

So about 800 people or so showed up at Pioneer Courthouse Square last night (about 7:OO) with pillows.
800 people = lots of pillows
pillows hitting other people = FEATHERS EVERYWHERE
Police = very confused and not knowing what to think

Seriously! I wanna live in Portland now. Pillow warfare must be a lot of fun!
I really hope that whoever organized that tries to bring it to other cities. Although...I'm not sure having one of those in NYC would be wise. It would only be a matter of time before guns and knives were whipped out...and ya know... |

Sadly =( I SO would have taken off time from work for that. !
And yesh. Portland has mastered nuttery to a new level. We're like a flippin Planters factory.

I think it actually started in London, by "the Pillow Fight Club" (refering to "The Fight Club"), which is so funny because the authoer of The Fight Club is from Portland X)! So it's only right that we should have a Pillow Fight Club, too
They're going to have another pillow fight in Seattle, and an estimated 4,000 people are going to show up for that one o_O |
