HELP!
Akila is killing me with this game. Well, I'm blaming it on her anyway. She got me started on it and now I can't stop. It's like crack! Ok, I don't do crack. But it's how I imagine crack would be!
Is anyone else addicted to this game? And if so, how do you keep your legs from falling off? |

Just keep doing it and your legs will get better, any unfimilier work will make some muscles sore, you just havent goten used to moving your legs that much....
or you could put the dificulty down a notch, that always helps me! |

That's the sad part. I exercise five days a week and it's on beginner!
It's more work than it looks like. My neighbor lost over 60 pounds just exercising on that! |

Moving to Gaming forum.
Yeah just keep practicing. You need to stop doing beginner all together and just move to light.
I didn't even do beginner... I started on light. After a year or so... I went to standard and stayed there. Staying there is the only way you will ever get good at it. You will fail the first time around, but you will get it after practice.
I spent about 2 months or so before I moved to heavy. |

I really need to get back into this. Thankfully Mountasia on Barrett Parkway has unlimited gaming on Tuesdays and Thursdays (best $12 I can spend, since there's no place in my house that I can play DDR right now). And yeah, it's a lot of work...oh, one big note - if you're playing beginner, ignore the dancing figure on the screen. Constantly moving your feet back to center is the surest way to never get any better at the game - you can leave your feet wherever they land and not get penalized for it. |

It is, however, a great way for people who have no concept of rhythm (and believe me, I know several such people) to start learning one. ^_^ It's good for beginning, but once you get decent at it, you gotta move to leaving your feet where they are. |

I'm gonna be a jerkface and say that I actually like Pump It Up more than DDR. I dunno, there's just the style of the game that I find more attractive. Back home in L.A. me and my buddy Jake used to play "Take On Me" all the time on Pump It Up. |

Stuck as a mid-range standard player, then again, unlike my siblings, I don't have anywhere to practice inexpensively, plus my tastes for a workout tend to move across all the mixes. One of the best things I did learn, though, is to move the feet from place to place. Now I need to figure out how to move my feet faster from place to place and read more complex rhythms. |

PIU players FTW!!!
I love pump. I have the emulator for PC, PS2 version and used to play at Jillian's all the time.
Plus there is nothing better than watching a female play PIU. That is one of the best parts of my job at the arcade.
You can do things on pump that you can't do on DDR. Like 5 buttons at once...
Sorry that was cheap.
I would like to remind you of the PIU bear:

I thank you all for your input. I was tired and achy and needed to vent.
It is a lot of fun. I need to get more music for it though. |
