...and yet inevitably I am behind. I don't know what happened, but somehow I got behind with everything again. Two weeks before spring break everything seemed to snowball on me at once and now I'm just buried under it.

The worst is that I have been procrastinating like I normally do. I've been getting everything done on time, pacing myself as I can, it just seems like the minute I get one thing done three more things are now due in the space of the next two weeks on top of the reading material.

The little things sneaking up on me outside of school probably haven't been helping, and I don't even feel like dealing with those cause my academics just leave me dry. Ugh, I feel so tired and inept. Did anyone go through a crisis their Junior year in college or highschool? This has definately been my hardest year of school ever.

I know I'm just being pathetic here. Grad school is going to be so much harder, and perhaps thats where the root of all this is...somewhere. Just suck it up and deal I guess, half of me really wishes I could bring myself to take a year off after I graduate next year.

A month left, and then I'll likely end up sleeping for a month afterwards, if life gives me some time to do so.

Don't feel alone, because you're not. Back in my college days (which were only like a year ago) I went through the same crisis. Multiple times too. In fact, during my junior year, I had a very bad accident and needed surgery on my ankle to correct it, so I spent most of my junior spring semester (including my crisis time) on crutches on a large campus. The fact that it's happening around spring break isn't uncommon either. After spring break, you're basically in the final stretch of the semester, things become due, deadlines are coming up, etc. My advice to you is to remember this for next year. If you sort of anticipate it, then you'll have a much better time getting through it.

To get through crunch times, my biggest helper were the many "To Do" lists that I wrote for myself. I don't know why, but they just seemed to make everything so much easier to deal with for me. It's almost as if you relieve some stress by putting your tasks down on paper, and it helps because then they become one last thing you have to think about and try to remember. Plus, I always got an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction when I crossed things off because they were done, and that made me feel better.

And as far as things that are occuring outside of school...if you don't feel like dealing with them, then don't. Distance yourself from anything that you can feasibly put on hold for a while, and try not to worry about them until school is done. The name of the game here is prioritization.

Anyway, I hope that helps some. Good luck with the final stretch of the semester, and look forward to the summer when you can just do nothing and not have to worry about it.

I do this every semester XD I make the usual 'I will do my work on squedual' promis to myself and yet.... get distracted with lots of other things anyway. This year, starting the academic year with a broken foot didn't help =__=;;; I always do get everything done eventually, but I am, myself, behind on a couple of projects. I seem to work much better when I'm under pressure and I know I HAVE to get it done. Maybe it's the the 'do or die' type feeling? Strange XD

I'm notorious for procrastination myself. I'm falling behind too so i feel ya. Just weather it and do as much as you can. Luckily for me, i don't sleep so i just do it when i should be sleeping. But anyway, you'll make it, just endure it and learn from it.

Well, in my case, I start to get really nervous around due dates, so if things aren't done, I start concentrating even more on them... but really, my advice to avoid the evil deadline crunch is to do a little bit of work every day. Finish one assignment, work on a chunk of a paper, study for an exam. That way, you can feel like you've accomplished something, and if there is a day or two that you want to take off, you can because you know you're comfortably far enough ahead that you can take a day off. That's a nice feeling.

this seems to be my specialty nowadays. I have two group projects and two papers that seemed to sneak up on me, and yea, prioritization was key. Just remember that you usually do have time. When you stress out about it, you seem to forget that you do have free time to work on things. I know that has been a lifesaver for me. Another thing that doesn't help either is the fact that i live at home, and i have the distractions of home to bother me (IE: Xbox, PS2, GC, PC, home-cooked meals, etc)

Anywho, keep on top of it, and you'll prevail. I have, so im sure you can.

While I'm not advocating procrastination, I think It's horrible that my best work comes when I'm "on the spot" in the Twilight Hour before my Papers or assignments are usually do. I find that when I have alot of time to do anything, I have no motivation to work on it and I immediately start slacking off.

Although I think it's really bad to have a "why do today, what you can put off till tommorrow" attitude, It's something hard to break out of. I suppose I should hypnotize myself into thinking every day is a due date, then I'd work on it in advance Very Happy

I feel the same way. I once wrote a 5 page paper on the Communist Manifesto 45 minutes before it was due. I did pretty well on it too.

I had a similar experience, save that the paper was actually due a week from the date i wrote it.

Junior year is always the worse. Then Senior year seems like a breeze.

Could be too many allnighters?
