Somehow, I got addicted to this game after seeing someone do a speedrun of the final secret level. Free, fun little platformer. Story is on crack. Nicely-realized bosses, and well-designed characters. And even the inclusion of useless secrets (see if you can get the lipstick and panties).
http://www.gameflaws.com/cavestory/ has the whole shebang (including the english patch). I recommend getting the Delixe Version, which includes the game already patched and a couple little extras.
Anyone who's already addicted: Have you beaten the Sacred Grounds? |

i've had this for quite some time. Beat everything except Sacred Grounds. Could almost always get to boss, but always get killed. Very awsome game.
It's what I imagince Metroid would be like if Treasure made it. |

I'll be honest - I can somewhat make it through Sacred Grounds if I'm careful...but I can't beat the final boss legitimately. So I cheated. |
