- Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed that the company will announce the official launch date and selling price of Wii in September 2006. Previous rumors suggested that Wii will launch in Japan sometimes in October 2006, and the price will be less than 25,000 yen (US$250).
- Satoru Iwata mentioned that he is convinced that the sales of Wii will be competitive against PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 worldwide, and it will be clearly over those of the GameCube.
- Nintendo announced Pokemon Battle Revolution for Wii, the latest work of the popular Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum series. The game can be connected with the NDS version of Pokemon Pearl & Diamond via WiFi connection. Pokemon Battle Revolution is scheduled to release in Japan in late 2006.
- Satoru Iwata mentioned that software for the Wii Virtual Console will cost between 500 - 1000 yen each (US$4.4 - $8.8 ). Nintendo also plans to deliver brand new games for Wii using the Virutal Console.
I now have my reserve money set aside. The "killer app" has been announced and I will be there!
Having the older games cost $5-ish also is kinda cool. I still have all of my old systems working and both Genny/Megadrive and SNES emulators for my PS2 but there may be one or two I want. |

A pokemon game for the DS and for the Wii how sweet is that! I want it sos bad. I am wondering with the new Wii controller will you be able to throw pokeballs. That would rock so much. |

Well, this isn't anything new. the N64 Pokemon game worked with a Gameboy Color Pokemon game back in the day. |

Very true but it is nice to see they have brought that back. Good deal. Plus this time it is wireless which is one of the Wii's themes. |
