If this isn't fixed, I will officially boycott EB/Gamestop

Ok, long story short...

first, they screwed me on preordering the collector's edition of WoW. I was going to get one for my bf for xmas, possibly one for me too, but they told me the wrong day they expected teh sku, and then, i show up a day late and they have already closed preorders...over the span of ONE day mind you...but having worked there, I can understand how demand is, and while I'm still fuming about it, and EB has left a VERY bitter taste in my mouth, one from being an ex-employee, 2 from this...then THIS happens:

So I preordered Castlevania for DS once I found out about the Anniversary bundle coming with it. I was so excited, because I am a HUGE castlevania fan, and anything I can get my hands on, I do. So I preorder it, and am SO excited. I get at least 2-3 emails from the EB Newsletter they send out, stating to still preorder, to get the bundle...so I had assumed (silly me) that there would be enough of the bundle to cover ALL preorders...since why send out more emails promoting it, if you arent getting enough... (bad language coming, dont read if easily offended)
So long story short, most stores seemed to have gotten shorted and now I'm most likely fucking screwed. The store I ordered mine at, had around 24 preorders....they got FUCKING 6 BUNDLES!!! Are you fucking kidding me? I had to talk to the guy for about 5 minutes to make sure I didnt mis-hear him. I didnt yell at him, because having worked there, I know its not the stores fault. I called another store, who had some...but they were for his preorders not picked up yet. I got corporate's number and called to complain..i did my best not to get upset wtih that lady also, as I know its not her fault either....and she said there is a slim possibility they may get more in the warehouse to distribute to stores, within the next week...so I calmly thanked her, while my head was about to explode...called the other store back where I knew the manager really well, and he said if one of his preorders didnt pick thier's up, he would call me...but man, I am livid.

All I can say, is that I hope that I get one, for EB's sake, or I will fucking boycott them permanently on any/all future purchases. I will withdraw all my preorders I currently have, I will tell my boss, (who used to be a customer of mine and easily spent about $60,000+ a year in my store, on her son who I am good friends with), I will tell my boyfriend to tell everyone at his work (EA Sports in Maitland) to not give them anymore business, and I will tell anyone who will listen to me in WoW not to shop there anymore either.(I'm fairly well known on Gilneas, so I'm sure I could get at least a couple hundred people to listen) Doesnt seem like much, but the FL stores business will definitely go down int he orlando area, and seeing as how they have been in the #1 Region/Dist i believe for 2 years now, unless they went down last year after I left, I think its deserving after that point. I feel bad for the employees who get burned by this, but most of them deserve better jobs anyways...

I'm done ranting now, I'll see how things play out Friday to see if I get a bundle or not...
I'm going to go cry now, from anger, frustration, and extreme upset...and sadly yes I did cry once I got home, I had such a shitty day and this was the fucking spoiled cherry on top...I was so distraught because I was so excited...

That's fucked up. I went and picked mine up yesteray and they didn't have the bundles either. The manager knows me though so he said that he would hold on to one for me.

I hope I get it. I'll be a little pissed if I don't.

This is why Chris preordered his online.

We've gone to the local EB and have been screwed with multiple times so we've just outright stopped preordering from them.

I preorded two PSU's and they only pulled one. Thankfully they weren't flying off the shelves and they handed me a copy from the floor... WITHOUT THE DISC INSIDE.

I think it's absurd how they have all these boxes on the floor and pull out the disc. I may be an elitist but I don't like paying BRAND NEW prices for opened product. Something about that is just wrong.

Anyhow, I've found that half the people working at EB's don't even give a crap about games. And frankly, the way EB handles business in their stores is just tragic.

Chris preordered his Castlevania online and got it in the mail yesterday. Bundle and all. It's the way to go!

This is the second time this has happened to me too. When I got my PSU, I didn't get my CD with it b/c they didn't know where they were. Not only that, but since I preordered 2 copies, I should have gotten 2 CDs... I didn't... but I'm a little less annoyed about that. I did go back and he gave me a CD. But just 1.

If there's a bundle with a game I want I always pre-order online.

I missed out on the Okami bundle because I pre-ordered it at a store prior to them announcing the bundle so of course I didn't get mine cause the store didn't have any.

For games like Castlevania EB does only get like 6 bundles...Then for games like Sonic Riders the store gets 4 pre-orders and 20 bundles...It's crazy.

Well, because i used to work for them, I know how important certain game sells can be for the stores, which is why I didnt go online for it. Never again, if this isnt rectified. I'll order or buy from Best Buy from now on if this isnt fixed. I had all night to cool off, and I'm more calm, but its just a glassy surface, I'm still pretty livid.

Thing is, you said they were shorthanded? i.e. they didnt recieve the stock they'd ordered? ths isn't the fault of anyone bar Konami's US Distributor.

Just thank hell you're not living over here, no Castlevania till next year, mid next year at that, no limited edition, and no doubt there wont be that much stock sent over, Castlevania's are notoriously difficult to get hold of in store.

Konami was still advertising it on thier site up until a week before it came out...

Anywho, thankfully, the store fixed the situation and got me one. I dont know how, and dont care, but I'm happy to have one now Smile
