Well here we go another bunch of wack jobs that have never played games are talking like experts about them.

They talk about the gaming industry like they are some evil group bent on world domination. Complaining that they "won't" adopt a rating system. When a perfectly adequate one has been in effect for over 10 years now.

I really liked how they showed clips from odd world in this.....ODDWORLD PEOPLE!! A game where the scariest thing you could do was fart and then giggle.

Video games don't make gamers violent; Idiots saying it does makes gamers violent Evil or Very Mad

As usual, Jackass Joe Lieberman has to be in there spouting off why he thinks video games are evil. I wish he'd just go away and I really wish that he wouldn't have been re-elected as our senator for another term. Just goes to show you that the people of Connecticut really are that stupid.

My favorite part of that, however, was how they're pulling out their secret weapon: 9/11. Yup, the terrorists used a video-game like flight simulator to learn how to fly the planes that they crashed into the World Trade Center. Well I'll be damned, they solved the mystery! Osama wasn't the problem after all...video games were! Well hell, I better stop playing video games now because they apparently support terrorism!

And Columbine? Yup, that was all because of video games also. I mean, kids wouldn't even know what guns WERE if it wasn't for violent video games, right? It's not like they would EVER see violence ANYWHERE else.

I guess the only logical thing to do would be to take your young, impressionable, and precious children, lock them up in a fallout shelter, and not let them out until they're at least 27. That way, they'll be safe from not only terrorism and communism and all other sorts of -isms, but they'll be safe from the evil media...ESPECIALLY violent video games.

I would keep going on, but this just makes me too angry. Maybe if they stopped trying to point blame at something for all of the world's problems, and started actually focusing on solving them, we'd have...well...fewer problems.

You know, there's one blatantly obvious oversight about the whole 9/11 thing. Something that any thinking person would immediately consider.

Yes, you can learn to fly a plane via a flight simulator. Yes, a flight simulator is similar to a video game. There's just one tiny little difference between them. A flight simulator has a 100% accurate recreation of a real plane's cockpit! It even moves and can mimic the feel of different types of situations.

A video game on the other hand does not have any of these things. Sure, there are the occasional light gun games. The last time I checked though, light guns aren't remotely similar to real guns. They don't weigh anything close to them, they don't have any of the same working parts other than a trigger, and they can't produce a recoil like a real gun. Hence, they cannot possibly teach you to use a real gun. Sure it might improve your aim some, but not enough to make a significant difference with a real gun.

It's like saying you can learn to drive a car with Hot Wheels.

It's no big thing, they can keep spouting irrational nonsense all they want. In the end it's only done to drive their own political agenda. It's this ages rock and roll. Soon enough a new fad will come out and then they'll try to kill that. Keep in mind though, all the other things politics tried to kill.

They're still around, and gaming will live on long after this. Plus it's not as if our voices can't be heard. We just need to keep the faith and prove that gamers are good people too.

Patience and time will heal this scar. In fifty years, those peopel will be back in the dirt whence they came and the old people of our childrens generation will be us,a generation raised with Q*Bert, Mario, and Guitar Hero.

Can Video Games make you violent...yes. Can they detactch you from reality...yes. Can they be bad for the community...yes. But it is not the governments job to dictate it. It's not a caucus' job to dictate it. It's not even a reviewers job to dictate it. It is up to the parents of said children who do crazy things to instill the right moral values and teach the differance between reality and fiction. As for this crap now. You let your kid play violent games from age 9 till 18, he has poor social skills....screw it I'm just gonna say it.

thank you.

You are 100% correct. However, as parents grow more and more irresponsible as time progresses, they will continually support those who point the finger at anyone but themselves. What we ultimately have is a lack of accountability. It's ok to screw up once in a while, it's what makes us human, but be adult enough to recognize and accept when it's your fault that something bad has happened, rather than trying to point blame at someone else.
