I dont realy know why i feel the need to tell you guys... but i do
i guess i can come up with a reason 
I dont realy know my way around the furry fandom, so if you guys have any webrings or forums you frequent, let me know, i might also start looking for a furry con to go to.
also, lately i have been crusing around the web for some more stories, but i havent had much luck, if anyone knows of a good site, with a collection of sories (as long as it dosnt read like an 8 year old wrote it... unless its a talented 8 year old) let me know.
im partial to the sci/fi genear, and a sucker for romance, but i like preaty much eveything |

I recommend FWA here in Georgia. Also Rocket City Furmeet in Huntsvill, AL, and Mephit Furmeet (MFM) in Memphis, TN. The caveat is that MFM runs counter to DragonCon. As far as sites go...I actually tend to stay away from a lot of furry webrings due to the number of "Otherkin" and fetishists involved in some cases. If you enjoy text-based RP, I can recommend a few furry-themed MUCKs to connect to, as well. |

In my travels, I was linked, here or elsewhere (can't recall), to a book called Furry! that may or may not have good stories.
As with other fandoms, of course, you have to search and sift a bit through the intarwebs to find material that is actually engaging and well-written. Trying some alternate keywords, like anthropomorphism, might also retrieve some relevant results.
And I wouldn't worry too much about the revelation, Buda. Most of the peoples in the fandom are there for art or fiction or other reasons, not the ones that GAAZ mentioned or the ones that will appear on television. (Plus, PO's got a few anthro-type Otaku themselves, so you should be in good hands.)
Can't offer much more in the way of advice to ya, but if you like, I could poll those friends I have that are furry and get their best bets. |

Human in body, raven at heart. I don't exactly advertize it. The closest I get to dressing up for it is putting some feathers in my hair.
Granted, I see it from a more shamanistic angle than a lifestyle angle... So among furries, I'm pretty much outside of the fandom. |
