Demon angel

There isn't any way to explain what it feels like to be cut off from a place you call home.

I've gotten to have several homes now, including the one you all have made for me in Georgia, and it breaks my heart every time I leave one.

So what do I do? I just keep telling myself "No matter where you go, there you are." And I kick myself for saying it, mope a little, then finally remember "I like having my home where I am."

I wish I had a good answer for you Angela, I don't, and I'm rambling because I don't have one, so all I can say is make your home, and you'll be happy.

Whats worse is what was home doesn't feel like home when you return on your visits you have, then one year it hits you like a ton of bricks and you want to move back but theres just no way too.

Also didn't I once say to you Angela home is where the head is?

I've lived in several places my life. Some for a short time, and others for a lot longer. To me, home is where you sleep at night. Places change, people move, and time walks on. What truly counts is the memories you keep and the moments that you share.

To me, friends that live abroad are only a phone call or a plane ticket away.

Because few else ever say it.

But thanks everyone. Very Happy I'd normally believe that home is where my head is (as Blackmage stated) since my head is normally all over the place, but I can't deny the nearly physical ache I've had for Spain.

No worries!
I'm sure you'll be able to go back to Spain,
It might take a bit, but hey, getting to go home is getting to go home, no matter when it gets done.

I miss my home in La Grange Ga. it was 70 acres of land, halfway between Atlanta and Columbus (and Fort Benning), and nearest neighbor a quarter mile away. i lived in the middle of it on the second floor of a house i helped to build in what capacity i had as a child. i had my own gun range and plenty of sky to look up at and star gaze. that was home and touring the woods allowed me to find many things like a creek, a corn drying shack (to make it age to be usable as feed) and a moonshine still. i wandered and played, climbing trees, hunting, and inventing. Also had a tree house i built, horse pen/ fields, and a bird dog pen. that was where i grew up and was at peace.

i only hope that as soon as i can get a decent job i can get land again and have children running out there like i was and a dog or two. at least i still have the family farm to go to and vanish into the woods, in my swamp, the creek Rocky Ford.
