This is very entertaining to me.

Greenpeace has a guide to "Greener Electronics."

Nintendo scored the lowest of the 18 companies surveyed. The scored a 0! A big fat goose egg.

This is hilarious to me considering they just recently released Chibi Robo: Park Patrol!

MS scored 16th with a 2.7.

Sony-Ericsson was in the top spot of those surveyed with Sony as a whole in 3rd.

XD I just found this story funny and thought I would post it for you guys.

Nintendo, MS Fail Greenpeace Environment Survey
Nintendo actually scores lowest ever...ouch.
By Steve Watts, 11/27/2007
If you haven't heard, environmental awareness is sort of a hot topic nowadays. It used to be every American citizen could dump their volatile waste in riverbeds without a second thought, but nowadays you can't so much as eat an endangered bird without some hippie telling you what you did was "wrong" or "inhumane" or "in breach of international law."

Not even Nintendo, with their piles of soccer mom money, can escape scrutiny. The Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics reports were just published, tracking the environmental steps taken by 18 electronics manufacturers. Nintendo hit the bottom of the list with a flat 0, the first global company ever to score so low. Microsoft didn't manage much better with a overall score of 2.7, only two positions higher than Nintendo. Sony, on the other hand, hit very high numbers, with Sony-Ericsson in first place and Sony itself in third.

What caused Nintendo's low score? Poor chemical management and precautions were major factors, but it is worth noting the survey is based entirely upon information found publicly on company Web sites. If no information can be found on a particular factor, it's scored as a 0, which occurred with Nintendo in 4 out of the 9 categories. Nintendo may have managed a higher score if the company Web site shared more public info on waste takeback and recycling. They're not necessarily hurting the environment as much as the report suggests, simply not providing enough information about it.

Perhaps Greenpeace's report will simply start requesting information not found on company Web sites. But hey, Nintendo made Chibi Robo Park Patrol...that has to count for something, right?

I wish they had actually requested this information from the companies as opposed to going off the information on their websites. I really don't want to have a reason to dislike Nintendo.

you dont have a reason, There's no real method to their madness on how they collect their info. In case you didn't know, Greenpeace is really a self-hate group in so much as they hate ppl, if there weren't any damn ppl on this beautiful planet, everything would be great! They are off the scale leftists. Not that they dont have some valid points, but they are extremeists which is dangerous.

I wouldn't expect a company website to share detailed information on their waste management or recycling plans. This is more like me rating how vegan your diet is based on your blog.

"Welp, you didnt specify what you had for dinner last night - must be meat." Rolling Eyes

In fact, a simple google search returned numerous articles like this:
Nintendo: Greening the Gaming Industry
Way to be a joke Greenpeace.

What a joke.

Well I was unaware that Greenpeace was such a Nazi organization. I know from now on. Wink

Haha, my room-mate tried to get a job for them a few weeks ago, and they NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES. Seriously. He tried different times of the day every day for two weeks. D: ...so I'm convinced they don't really exist. XD
