Well Roppon, I agree with you to an extent. I have a windows box at work and at home. Mainly because, well, I have to. They don't make enough of the software I need for what I do on linux to make that my user based system.

I also have a Linux box at home. I use that for a web server. Actually back in the beginning, PO resided there. When we realized that We were doing ok, we moved it to our first attempted hosting company which also used linux. Then when that was found unreliable, we moved to where we are now, they also used linux.

At work, our production environment will be linux.

Linux is by far a better OS. I had my Linux box up for over 6 months without a restart or a problem. Try to do that with Windows.

So when it comes to using what you need to, Windows I can understand. I do use Windows when I must. However I avoid a lot of their other products. Like IE, I don't use IE a lot. Again, only when I have to b/c there are sites out there that don't work with other browsers. I tend to use Opera. Very nice browser. And so on.

And as I said, I use things like Yahoo mail as opposed to Hotmail. Yahoo is less money hungry (still money hungry, but less then MS) and offers more.

Anyway, that's pretty much where I am today. Using Linux and windows b/c I have to. Man I wish Apple would wise up and mass produce their OS... and add a mouse button!

I use Trillian too but I still get that message from microsoft over my MSN Messenger Trillian account...*sigh*

Might haveta turn off MSN Messenger since the only people I talk to use AIM messenger anyway...And when I say talk to I mean I type stuff and they don't respond.

I am too Az. I just blow it off... I can still get to my MSN buddies... which is good b/c for some strange reason that is what we use at work...

Wow you actually admit the fault with Linux. Just not enough support. When it becomes a widespread enough OS, maybe it will have the support it needs, but until then it'll just be a OS of the smart.

My website is hosted on Unix or Linux, and the only thing I think that could touch the reliability is Windows 2003 server. Which I've heard first hand positives about.

I haven't used IE in about a year or more, I was on Opera for a long time, but I recently found Mozilla Firebird, the only thing it lacks from Opera is mouse gestures, while I did like, I'd take the loss over the speed jump I gained with Mozilla.

Or you could just use Mail from your site
But for my spam address I use Yahoo as well

At least you're not anal, like on the screensavers today, they did a head to head matchup between Linux and FreeBSD and the only reason I'd pick FreeBSD is because the Linux guy was an anal asshole.

meh, i just tuned in to your Microsoft bashing, and i too think that microsoft has its major bugs in it, but alas, it is still a decent OS and ive been using it my whole life. XP rarely gives me problems, and so on and so forth...but alas, i use the comp for videogames and homework...not for programming and so on and so forth like so
