Since elections at my middle school are about to start I think this year since I'm in 8th grade I will try again to run for a position in Student council. The only thing keeping me from running is that for some reason almost every year I never get enough votes. I see myself as a good solid A student, I get first honors, do community service, and particpate in school wide activities. But for some reason every year I never get voted for! Its almost weird. I think I might run for Vice Pres. My best friend is running for Pres. along with the popular people so I know I dont have a chance there. I just need some help decided whether I should run or not. Any advice?  |

ok I have learned when running for any kind of position you have to be confident and make sure you have made an alliance with neighboring groups (( such as if you are a goth, freak or whatever you still have alliances or friends within the prep group)) the groups I ran for were far from school leadership but had the smae basic principle... and i won every single one by basically doing what i just told ya :anime: |

Really!? Thanks Kitten~ I'm just a little nervous, I'm not sure what kind of alliances I have but I'm friends with alot of peeps. So maybe that will help! Ack I'm scared! |

pssh forget all that normal political tactic garbage what you need to do is get into the underworld of your community and either bribe your way to the top, have the mafia threaten your opposition, run a dirty campaign making your opponents look bad (you know like find a pic of them picking their nose or something then photocopying it ALL over campus) and then i dunno some sort of death trap involving pickles in pajamas.
most likely your real opposition will be "teh popularz d00d". the key here is that it doesnt matter how smart he is he just needs to smile and nod his way to victory, you will need to think of something to downplay his popularity or find some way to make yourself a much better candidate. |

The way I did it was by running for an office that nobody wanted. The Service Committee. But then when i was actually in the meetings, I gave more input than anyone else, even though i didn't do very well as service committee chair. |
