ugh. there are several things that get me angry. very angry. car horns are probably number one on that list. number two is something vastly different though.

people who insult other people's musical tastes on a routine basis and dont really do anything else with their time.

now, dont get me wrong, everyone has music they dont like, everyone will express distaste. im guilty of disliking even hating some music. however, i dont go around and yell at every person who likes music that i dont like, because i have a life. i cannot tell you how many times a "true hard rocker" has gotten mad at me for liking linkin park. or how many times a "true punk" has gotten mad at me for having songs on my comp by blink182 and green day, im sorry they got famous and made money, it really is their fault isnt it? and its all the same kind of people. these extremists who play guitar or base, but only learn how to play their kind of music, only listen to their kind of music, and any song they deem easy to play is "unskilled". shut the hell up. these guys are getting out there, up on stage or in a studio, putting out 10-20 songs, each different, each one with instruments and vocals. and the truth is that 80+% of the populous of the world couldnt do that, otherwise we'd all be rockstars and there would be no janitors or cops or accountants, or anything. and at least guys like linkin park took the time to learn how to play instruments. its not like they are getting up on stage and lipsincing to some piece of crap song with no instruments and bad lyrics. but even then, at least those guys have the nerve to get up on stage and perform in front of the world. lord knows i would have trouble performing, and im not alone in that. if they had NO skill, theyd still be cleaning our shit, now we're buying their shit, they must have been doing something right, right?

yeah i admit too that there are a lot of bands out there that i dont like adn dont like how they got up to where they are but atleast they did what others dont have the guts to do. THey could they wanted to so they did. :anime:

HERE HERE! Goo righty! I totally agree! I am part of that group that has their music of choice under constant bombardement! I am a Nickelback/Theory of a Deadman kinda guy and they get no respect and lots of dissing! It pisses me off, Imean fuck most people haven't heard half their songs, only the ones constantly played on the radio! I FUCKING HATE IGNORANT FUCKTARDS!

But seriously, all kidding aside. Don't take them seriously. Don't give them any heed. When they say your music sucks, just think, "Okay, they're expressing a dislike for my music, I'm obviously more cultured than they are and are able to express it in a much more musical manner." or something ^_^

Anyway, seriously ZG.. I don't like your music, but when I mock you about it, I mean it in the most positive way possible Very Happy

I have a rather broad taste in music. Sure, I like some things better than others, but variety is the spice of life.

I personally hate it when not only do they say that my music sucks, but they claim that a band has "Sold out"

So what if they did...they are in the business to make money. They "Sold out" because of the fact that they needed money...it doesnt make the band any less demeaning...they are just doin their job.

Yeah its always kind of funny when people belittle other people's taste in music. I mean that people go around and say that some bands suck like its a fact. I'd hate to break it to them but musical taste and what you like are just your opinions.

music choice is just that. one's choice in music. music, as a form of artistic expression is in it's very nature as diverse as the people of the world. we could no sooner have one form of music, as one skin tone, one nationality, one country, one face. let the people listen to what appeals to them.

Righty, God knows I know what you mean. We've had this discussion many times before. I know that sometimes I say that your music sucks, but I'm only teasing. You know we have pretty much the same taste. What I really don't like are the people that mock you for liking something. I remember you telling me about that kid in your class who saw the way you were dressed and acted all wise-ass and was like, "Do you like the Misfits? Are you a punk?" I hate that crap. They make fun of you because you dress differently than they do, but they're the ones who are worshipping drug-abusing, womanizing, no talent rappers.

And about that "selling out" crap...stop bringing it up. It's selfish. The band doesn't exist for YOU, no matter how much you think it does. What right do you have to criticize a band because they decide that they want to crawl out of the crap-infested gutter that they're swimming in, and try to make some money doing what they enjoy? I'd like to see what you do when you have a crappy, struggling garage band...and someone takes interest in you and basically drives a dump-truck full of money to your front door and promises you the fame that you really want deep down inside. I do believe that when they say jump, you will ask "how high?"

(The above was not addressed to anyone in particular, its just easier for me to write in that perspective...)

The simple truth is that every single human being is different from everyone else deep down inside, and the sad truth is that society tries to force people to be the same as its preconceived notion of what you need to be in order to fit. Society hates deviants from its norm, so we get all these kids who like rap, because its what popular culture tells them to do. there's nothing wrong with liking rap, but please, do not make fun of other people for not liking rap, because it's not god's gift to mankind. In 5 years rap will crawl back under that rock it was under, and something else will be the new big thing, maybe less time. the simple point im trying to make and deftly avoiding is this. like whatever you like, but respect the fact that i like what i like.
