Mercedes Lackey the GODDESS of writing!

I do not know about you all, but I about worship Mercedes Lackey! Her books are easy to read without being too low a level. They have intros that snag you right away, characters that you can connect to, a magic and psionic system that actually makes sense (instead of just being throw in there with no real rules like many books), great storylines, romace, adventure, magic, and all those good things. Her Heralds of Valdemar books are my favourite, but her new Elemental Mages series is a very good read, too. The books in her Valdemar books tie so well into each other, and the characters just keep getting more and more defined until you feel like you almost know them. The histories, current lives, and futures all work so well together, showing a well-thought out plot for all of the books. Her Black Gryphon series starts it all out, and even in her latest books the Black Gryphon is mentioned as part of the histories that the current Gryphons and Kryee (an intelligent wolf-like species). The number of things mentioned in current books from previous books shows how well she has everything planned out. It is simply wonderful!

I CANNOT reccommend her enough!

She has done well. I've only read parts of the Valdemar series, but they were well-written books. What attracted me to that part of the series was strong, principal feale characters throughout the whole of the series. (Actually, I picked them up ebcause they looked interesting back in middel school, but that's not important.)

I also can recommend her without hseitation.

Is the first time that I hear of her but it seem so great I'll try to find one of her book. ^^

Tenshiai, her books are easily found in the fantasy/sci fi section of most majour bookstores. Definitely start with the Black Gryphon series first, if you read her Valdemar books. So much goes back to that series that, while you COULD get enough details to follow the storyline no problem, it makes it so much more interesting if you know the full story behind it. Each series in the Valdemar collection is a great read on its own, but you get a lot more out of it if oyu read the series in order. I just got a Borders gift card, and I know I am spending it all on her books. LOL.

Phew....thx a lots because It's sur that I prefer to read a serie in order is always more fun. I like all fantasy stuff and was looking to something new, funny coincidence. ^^

Yeah, that is in her new elemental mage series. I really like it! They are BRILLIANT retellings of faerie tales. The next one in the series is a wonderful retelling of the Sleeping Beauty story. It is called The Gates of Sleep.

I've read that one but i didnt quite like as much as the first one. I felt that they didnt give the main character much action so i'm hoping she shows up again later in the series. Will all of them be connected?

I am not really sure, to be honest. They all have a common theme, so maybe they will be connected. That would be really interesting. Knowing Mercedes, she will pull off something amazing. I agree, though, about the first one being better. I did still like the second, though.

I dont think i have read any of the ones that she cowrote with other people. . . .wait i have but i really cant remember off the top of my head. but i do better with book titles than the authors for some books.
