Wooooooo! One of my favorite games of all time. I loved the NES version and the N64 version was stunning. *high fives Atlus* Such original style and gameplay, not to mention tons and tons of replay value! Some of you may have played Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis for GBA, thats the newest OB type game out, though I like its predeccesors despite graphical leaps and bounds made to it! So, anyone played the early OB games? |

Technically, Enix made the SNES version, not Atlus. The PSX remake was made by Atlus.
Ever play the NGPC version? Amazing on close to the SNES version that one is...even keeps the battle animations from the SNES game for all the characters. Plus, if you know how to play the SNES and PSX version, you should have no problem with this one cause the gameplay is exactly the same (except you can select paths when moving a unit...ie, they can go to point a to point b, then end at pont c ), so you don't need to understand Japanese all that much to be able to play it. |

Curiously enough, I have owned three versions (one japanese) of Ogrebattle but have never played any. Looked like too good a game to pass up but also too good to jump into without days of spare time. |

I loved the older Ogre Battle games, and I'd really like to see some current remakes that use the older play style. The March of the Black Queen is simply a large sprawling game for it's time and despite its fairly redudnent game play, its pretty fun. It takes sooooo long to class up your units though!
Raz - each battle cantake upwards of thirty minutes easily, so yeah, good call. |
