Yes, it's more of my self-pitying drivel.
Ok, so right now I'm living with my grandmother. I pay rent, and all, but one of the terms of my being allowed to live there is that I have to take at least one class at the local community college, and pass it. Well, here I am, about two weeks from the end of the semester, realizing that I'm going to fail the class I decided to take. Also that I simply don't have what it takes in the way of strength and determination to go through school. Therefore, it follows that I'm about to get booted from my grandmother's house, and I'm sure she'll be happy to see me go. Don't get me wrong, she's a wonderful woman, but I'm just too much of a burden.
So, in anticipation of this event, I have begun to try to think of where I can go next.
Off the top of my head, I can think of three options.
1: Try to get my parents to let me live with one of them.
2: Try to find an apartment or something that's affordable around here, making around $120 a week.
3: Move to Atlanta.
Now, since I've got too many issues to name, and since indecision is one of them, I'm asking for help with this decision. |

Well the apartment would probably be the easiest way but making 120 a month you will need 2 other room mates probably. The same would be true for moving to ATL except you might find a better job there I don’t know what your job market or theirs is like. |

Well, right now, I get paid $6.75 an hour. I've been told that I can make on average $8 to $10 an hour in GA, and that there's a hotel in the area that lets people live there for a weekly rent. |

We talked about this before. All I can say is that there are some things that you just have to do. I'm a firm believer that a college education is one of those things. It can do nothing but benefit you in the end. My suggestion is that you just suck it up, and finish up with the classes, while trying to find yourself a better job that's gonna compensate you more for your hard work. Once you're done with school, you're gonna be all the better. I know that its tough, but its something that you just have to do. Just look at the inconvenience now as an investment in the future. |

Check out what's available in Atlanta right now. First, confirm that hotel could take you in and has a spot available, and then apply for jobs. If you get what you need in both cases, then Atlanta can work well. |

Ming,
Right. We have talked about this before. I've talked about my school issues at some point in time with a lot of people, and all of them have told me that exact thing. Now, here's the trouble. I can't do that. There is something in you that motivates you to just push through all the crap and come out clean and better for it on the other side. You have a reason that drives you. You have a purpose, whatever you wish to call it. I don't. I've been trying for...*counts*...five, six years now to find something that will motivate me to plow through the crap, and I haven't found it yet. And without that motivation, I have no hope at finishing school. Therefore, my options, as I see them, are as I have laid them out. |

well, you definitely can find a job here in atl, as this is like the 4th largest growing economy in the world right now, but like i always tell you, you should absolutely go to school. take core classes if you have to until you figure out a major you want. a college here (the one musashi goes to) has a specific set of classes for undecided major ppls. |

Well maybe this will motivate you, on average a college graduate will make around 1 million more dollars in their life than some one with a HS diploma only.
If for nothing else do it because the rest of your life will be better, you have got to suck it up and put up with it. Nothing worth having in life is easy. There are allot of classes I take that I would just assume skip and not do the work, but I go and do all the work because I want to be an educated individual.
One more thing, a mind is a terrible thing to waste you should quest to expand your knowledge and understanding all throughout your life.
As for your choices that’s really up to you, if you stay in your area you need a new job to get an apt. If you go to Atlanta you will need a new job, which may or may not be easy, and even if they do pay more that is only because things generally cost more in cities, thus the price of living there goes up.
You could always ask your grams to not kick you out, I mean she is your grandma she has to love you. |
