You know what... I say pull them out and let them all deal with it. I know it sounds harsh but do any more of our people need to be killed by the ass holes that are still there.
Yes I know that not all the Iraqis are ass holes, but I mean come on. They are beheading innocent people while they are still awake.
Talk about inhumane.
I say find these guys and do worse to them. Screw this "Cruel and unusual punishment" bull shit.
They aren't giving our guys a break.
That's probably why they are doing it. They know that all they will get is a quick and pretty much painless death.
I say tie them up, then get the families of the people they killed and let the beat the shit out of them every day.
Or put them in one of our Maximum security prisons and let all the prisoners know that these are the guys that cut off American's heads over in Iraq.

If it was just me, I'd level the entire Middle East. Whenever there's something that even remotely sounds like a problem, all those fuckers think of doing is bombing random stuff left and right. |

i direct you here. Read Irion's big long rant.
Shurikane bombing the middle east wouldn't do any good. You aren't fighting a country for god's sake, just a group of psychos. A faceless enemy. |

For real, What about all the innocent children and families in the Middle East . . . Oh lets commit genocide on millions of innocent people to get a small fraction of terrorist And as a side note, my best friend was born in the middle east and moved here as a child
And if we did just pull out and leave it as it is, every last person who has been killed in Iraq will have died in vein, because every thing will go right back to how it was. I think it would be a disgrace to dishonor their sacrifice like that. |

I completely agree Reaper. I'm not sure if it's as bad but it's almost like Viet Nam. Except replacing communists with terrorists. |

Man I don't know how to feel.....Our reputation is kinda screwed anyway we act. More importantly though, I think we are in for a serious catch-22 here. Dig this
If we pull out now forget dishonor, all I know is that the press and other countries are gonna cry that we set up this government and then left them in an unstable environment...
If we stay, then people are going to start wondering why we are still around
See the friggin press always has to show all the people who say that we have done our job and need to leave them alone...why don't they show all the people who think...Hey the US just saved us from Saddam who most of us hate anyway, they helped us get a government going....sigh
As for my personal opinion...I think we need to still be there simply because our job isn't done...period....
On a sidenote let me also mention something that irritates me....
I am all about the argument that people should speak so powerfully about something they know very little about the situation...now I am not saying you guys did these...matter of fact that isn't even my gripe...my gripe is the people who think because I am in the military, I know so much more than other folks...maybe Terin has had this happen too...who knows....anywho that is my opinions and I am not sorry for them
Love ya'll

Here is the problem as I see it. We don't want to pull out of there too soon because the destabilization will be of a monumental proportion and fuckwrench things even worse than they are.
That being said, even with the supreme power of the US of A, it's still as fuckwrenched as it can be currently. While I don't support this war, (and as I am learning, really any war) if we were going to do this, we should have done it right. Overwhelming force, clear objectives, proper training, right gear, and with a trained group of soldiers ready to step in gradually to faze us out.
Instead, our politicians thought this would be a cake walk that we could just go in, do one thing, and then leave. News flash people, that didn't even work in 'Western' countries like Germany and Japan. It took us a decade to sheperd a legitimate government in either of those countries to power.
So, for a long time still, a large portion of our troops and National Guard (Did Iraq become the 51st State when I wasn't looking? Why the fuck is the US NATIONAL GUARD in a foreign country?!) will be helping out a country that we might not have needed to invade. |

I'll simply say that I agree with Wok. This is a damned if you do damned if you don't situation, no buts about it. We were wrong to go in there, we're gonna be wrong going out of there, we'd be wrong if we stayed there. Period. There's no right way to do this at this point in time. Now it's a question of what's the lesser evil.

Wow here is one I actually know...I can't give you the reasoning behind this...but the National Guard/Reserves tend to make up the first groups in...I dunno about the Marines, but the Army and AF National Guard go in as troops to allow some time to let the active duty trops mobilize and for headquarters to get all their ducks in a row before sending us out...HOWEVER!!!
This never seems to work because during this war I have seen countless of my comrades leaved under the pretense that they would be deployed for 3 months and have been staying for over a year...way to go HQ Air Force Mobility
