POcast idea.

Why don't we pull up the PO chat window while doing the POcast and answer questions live if anyone has any?

Is this something you guys would be interested in?

Would definitely be cool to see happen, but that would require knowing when the POcast was going on and listening in live-like.

Well you wouldn't be able to listen live.

But POcasts SHOULD take place every Wed night.

I'm sure there will be some Weds where we are either really busy or some other reason that we just can't get to doing one. But we have been good about being consistant so far.

Well, only other option on that shino-san, is if you whilst recording them, did them on a Ventrillo or teamspeak server.

The people who wished to listen, but didnt take part in the show could be muted, or, if you can work out how halfliferadio does it, it can be broadcast live onto the PO website

Hoorah for Una then! If you guys need the use of a Vent server (again, I know this is how halfliferadio do it) you are more than welcome to make use of mine, I can lock it and everything for ya =)

I still say it would be fun to have some PO's call in during the PO Cast, or have you guys ambush us on Weds night with going "CONGRADULATIONS_______________ YOU'RE ON POCAST!"

We started out using a Teamspeak server with our initial testing... because we wanted to have other PO members on. Scrapped that idea temporarily since the echo was just unbearable.

We're now recording in an ass backwards way. We're all recording into our own boxes (laptops usually). Then I gather all the files and splice them together. In theory it's a sound plan, but unfortunately, there's the little matter of different sound cards, drivers, etc.... The end result is ECHO ECHO ECHO, remove .05secs of audio here, stretch .006secs there.

We need a mixer and a USB interface. A little pricey (~$150), but absolutely essential if we're going to do this right. It takes me a week or more and a whole lot of swearing to get them synched up.

Once we have the mixer, I want to pipe our Friday audio into a Teamspeak server again and have people be on the show and/or listen in live.

I just chatted with Una about ordering the equipment we needed...

Now that you have done this. I'm going to make sure it gets put to the use you wanted it to. Una and I will be ordering the equipment tonight.
