New study out. Come to find out some things never change, and some things do.

Oh I agree. My man does equal work at home. I'm not ever to say I do more than he does - home and "market".

I do, however, still get paid less for it. Wink As would most women.

This was an interesting read, but I think it's slightly flawed. They spent their time measuring the quantity of work done and seemed to neglect measuring the quality of the work done. According to this article, many people believe that women work more because of working around the house all day. But I can't say that I agree it's the same "quality" of work that the men do. If given the choice, I would much rather stay at home and do domestic chores and run errands rather than sit in traffic to be at a more stressful job where I have deadlines to meet, expectations to uphold, stupid clients, and angry bosses to deal with. Now I will admit, this is not MY job (personally) since I basically sit around all day, but I think that the overall stress level has to be taken into account in the grand scheme of things.

Also, in the town that I live in, women basically don't do anything. They sit around all day with their friends at Starbucks and spending their husband's hard earned money while maids clean the house and nannies deal with the kids.

I think it's wrong to generalize, for either gender. Every case is going to be different from another.

there is no way to generalize the work. people are seeming to be looking to whine since the grass is greener. just my observation from the side looking at human history. no po's are intended to be hurt in this comment.

This article seemed to spend most of its time going roundabout...they try to make the point that men and women are working equal amounts, but then go onto say how in certain countries and per capita levels they do not.

I work hard and work efficiently in order to get what I need done faster so I have more of that leisure time...I'm still working at being better at the homework side of things. But, my case is unique in that my boss is one the other side of the country and I carry a Blackberry, and will even forward my calls in order to still maintain that level of availability. My schedule is much more flexible than many...I can even work from home.

I'd like to see more of their defining factors that were used. I don't like the generalizing bit to all this but yet I understand the necesity for it...I just want to know how they are doing it.

Both and neither. XD! I would never say that women work more than men, or vice versa, because you can't account for every woman and every man, and even if there was a gross majority circumstance, you couldn't say something like that because of the exceptions to the rule.

That wasn't directed at your comment, just a statement my point of view.
