Working in an office for a while now, I've started to notice a growing trend in people not adopting proper bathroom etiquette. For example, under no circumstances is talking allowed in the men's room. Am I crazy or is this happening elsewhere?

I hate when people try to talk to me when I am in there. If I wanted to talk, I would talk, but when I'm doing what I need to do...yeah, not prime conversation time.

Hmm. I generally don't have that problem. But if someone's talking to me in the bathroom it doesn't bother me. Then again, I'm not staring them in the face while I'm taking a piss. |

The rules are apparently slighty different for the men's and women's room. The women's room is looked on as a social zone, the men's room is not. Shino has the right idea...all that is allowed in the men's room is a quick hello, and only when you're not in the middle of "business". An appropriate time would be while washing your hands. Which brings me to my next concern...
Why are people NOT washing their hands when they're done?! I mean, why should we even have to talk about this?! |

Agreed with Gaaz, but I heard the order was 1, 5, 3, toilet.
And Ming... I know what you're saying man.
There's a guy I work with, doesn't wash his hands EVER. Not even when he comes out of a stall! Just nasty.
And he doesn't even do it at the sink or anything. Just goes back to his office. |

Yes, guys need to follow the alternation rule. If you have to take a urinal that would put you directly adjacent to someone else, use a stall or wait. I can't tell you how many people here violate that rule.
As far as washing hands goes...have you ever noticed those signs in public bathrooms that say "Employees Must Wash Hands"? I think we should lobby to have them changed to "Everyone Must Wash Hands...You Dirty Bastards" |
