Yea, so I'm looking for work. I graduated with two (2) degrees (BA in English and in New Media). and don't know if anyone knows any info about recent entry level jobs or anything greater. Im looking for experience in anything, from Video Editing and Videography to Technical writing and creative writing, to even running coffee.
Does anyone have any advise? Cause so far I've only drawn blanks, and I've maybe applied to roughly 20-30 places already. |

Are you applying in the New York area only? What sort of experience do you have? I know White Wolf in Atlanta is hiring technical writers, but with two years + of experience. There are also a couple other places in this area that you might look into if you're willing to move-- and cost of living in the Metro Atlanta area is totally cheaper than NY. Plus, you could hang with us. ^_- |

well, one of the places i wouldn't mind working is over in your neck of the woods, since i know cost of living is cheaper and that there are people out there that i know.

Sadly, I think I'm going to be in the same boat as you very soon. My job just isn't cutting it anymore, and with the wedding coming up and Mary and I wanting to buy a place to live, I'm going to need to find something that pays me a whole lot better. |

Entertainment...like Cable, or TV networks. Food Network is supposed to be really cool to work for.
I didn't really find anything for NY through our internal job look-up for AT&T, but it's a decent place to look into. I know a big corporate building opened up in NY maybe <5 years ago...
Retail Sales have high chances to move up...my old manager came from retail. I'd avoid any CSR kind of position, those tend to take the longest to move out of, and the pay is lower and would set you from the start at a lower pay that would follow you the entire ladder up. |

Honestly, i may be taking you up on that. I need the experience in my field, and volunteering once a week at a TV studio isn't cutting it, especially when I've voiced my concern for work 
But alas, I've still got several applications in the pipelines. Maybe someone will bite
