I can understand Hollywood's need to remake old movies due to their apparent lack of ability to create something new. However, when did it become a good idea to remake old BAD movies?!? I know a lot of people liked Footlose, but I always hated that movie. I'm sorry Mr. Bacon, you rock, but that movie sucked. I mean really Hollywood, if you absolutely must remake something do it with something that was made 50 years ago that most people either never saw or don't remember. Quit trying to remake movies that just came out 10-20 years ago. Chances are the movie you're remaking was either...

a. Good enough the first time
or...
b. Bad enough to be left alone

Please Hollywood, come up with something new or leave us to our re-runs

LOL this is SO retarded. How about this hollywood: do some remakes from the 40's and 50's. That'll seem new to most of us. ok guys lets look at some 80's pop megahits that HOllywood hasn't yet, but still can, cash in on:

Now yeah this might bring back memories from your childhood, but they should remain there. They were great and were a part of our time but they should remain ours. I hope Hollywood pulls their head out of their hind quarters, because I don't want to see Doogie Howser: The Later Years.

This type of thing always irritates me.

You don't see them remaking movies like Heidi. It's the more pop culture, but relatively cult classic things they are remaking, and revamping and "remaking but with a more modern twist". It makes me quite ill to think about it.

Heck, there are some movies that they make NOW that they can't get right. Incredible Hulk, anyone? Big REDO for the movie industry there...

oh god, i saw one thing on Terin's list that I hope they never remake:

The Breakfast club.

But that aside, I'm not very happy with them remaking it, and like Ming said, I'm not too thrilled about this kid being the new "thing." This is what makes me mad about hollywood. This is why I'm starting to like independent movies more. But I won't be mad...unless they try to remake Saturday Night Fever. Then I'm taking a plane to Hollywood and killing someone.

What really irritates me more than anything about that is that a year ago they were denying that it was ever going to happen.

Now, all of a sudden, it's "ZOMG WE IS REMAKING DA KARATE KID! But not really, because it's just the same "situation" not the same story..."

How the heck does that make ANY sense at all?!
