Has anyone picked this up yet?
Personally I have been playing the crap out of it, and can't put it down. It pretty much captured the feel of the old skool fallouts but transitioned it perfectly into a modern gaming format.

The beginning kinda sucks, but thats how bethesda usually is, once you make it outside the vault though you are greeted with unprecedented richness and destruction. The world is so immersive I sometimes find myself depressed playing it, because the world is just so fucked up, but at the same time compelled to keep exploring and changing the world (for better or worse). Which brings me to one of my favorite things, what you do ACTUALLY matters and the plot changes based on what you do SPOILER:At one point you can choose to disable a nuke making everyone in town all happy, or intentionally set it off and turn everyone into radioactive vapor:SPOILER

If you were into the old fallouts buy this, if you are into other bethesda stuff (morrowwind etc) buy this, if you just like blowing up raiders face's buy this Twisted Evil

BTW this game is gory as F*CK

Will be picking this up Friday.. wooohoooo!!! never played any of the other fallouts but it sounds like oblivion but with guns and MORE.. Darn you pay check come quicker!!!

That's only a spoiler if you never read any of the previews, since it happens in the first 10 minutes of leaving the vault.

i've been playing it since it came out and have been contenting myself with sidequests. I'm kind of burning myself out, though, so i might not play it again until next week.

it only happens in the first 10 minutes if you go directly to that town, I actually cleared out the school of Raiders before even getting to megaton. I also don't know how to disarm the bomb. I adore this game, it melded the Elder Scrolls engine with the Fallout world beautifully. VAC has to be one of my favorite features.

I really want to be interested in this game b/c it looks phenominal.

Problem is... it seems like it's just Oblivion with guns... and I couldn't get into Oblivion... at all.

I couldn't get into Oblivion either Shino, but I'm really getting into this, I found Oblivion to be really clumsy and full of bugs and overall just far too overwhelming in terms of its scale, it seems Bethesda may have tightened everything up much better than they ever did on Oblivion.

You just walk up to the bomb and pray it doesn't detonate in your face. I had explosives as a skill when I left the vault so i'm sure that helped. One click and the thing was disarmed.

Game plays well and is immersive as all hell, but I can't believe they screwed up AI even worse than they did with Oblivion.

Seriously, why do fleeing people sprint TOWARDS their attackers? It makes any and all escort missions a tedious and frustrating process.

is there a "sneak" ability much like Oblivion? That was by far my most favorite skills, just click the analog stick down and continue walking.. no one sees me in oblivion cus I maxed it out(in dark places only, kinda doesn't work in broad daylight).
