I think a number of you know that I LOVE to the point of obsession Gears of War. Well, apparently, Epic does not. Gears of War 2 is total f****** garbage. Horde mode is mildly entertaining, but the multiplayer is completely f***ed. I highly recommend never buying this piece of s***. They completely changed everything good about the game as far as mechanics goes. Cliffy B to use his "new favorite phrase" is a total douche nozzle, and IMHO Gears 2 is nothing better than a douche bag, filled with puke and s***,. shoved inside of a colostomy bag, covered in afterbirth.

I knew they were having online issues, but wow.

I'm sure some of the issues will be fixed with a patch though.

Never experienced the first Gears online, not too fussed about it to be honest, although I did just pick this up to play through the story (what there is of it based on what little there was in the first...) because I'm a bit of a sucker for wanting to know what happens throughout a series...

wow. I haven't played multiplayer yet BUT I'm loving the story mode. I couldn't put it down! I only stopped to go to work. It seems much longer and beefier than the first one too. I thought I was nearing the end only to discover that I was actually just at the hump! Lots of pretty epic moments. The Flamethrower's fricking awesome.

Played some multi last night and really enjoyed myself, heard many people claiming its better than the original Gears online on various forums so I think you're in a minority Gekko (I never played the original online) but that could be initial hype and all that as I remember many loving CoD3's multiplayer when that came out then after a few weeks everyone declared it the worst of the series...

No offense Riva but if you never played the first one, you cant really compare it can you? on the official Gears website TONS of ppl are bitching about this. It is garbage. The campaign is awesome, I agree about that. The mulitplayer though, sucks dick.

No offence taken, I wasn't making a personal comment on the multiplayer comparisons, just that the people I'd seen discussing it on a handful of forums (not the official ones) were saying its better, I usually find those that inhabit websites/forums specific to one game are difficult to please

They might be difficult to please, but they are the core of the game, especially the multiplayer. Horde is fun, hard, but fun, Campaign is INSANELY awesome, but SHORT! Multiplayer is were GOW1 reached it's cult status, and all they did was turn it into a piece of shit.

And if anyone thinks I'm kidding about them sucking Halo 3's dick, during a vehicle sequence, about 1/2 way thru the game, they use the SAME F****** lines as Halo 3! WTF!

While im not quite a vehement over it as gekko, i will agree that they failed pretty misrably on the multiplayer.

coupla points i dont like.

When revving the chainsaw, you dont get stunned when shot, you dont even slow down. In the first, it was alot more tactical, you didnt rush in with the saw and win, you had to flank or sneek up on someone. The only good thing, is if your not aiming, you can run backward at about the same speed as the guy with the saw, but you better hope you dont lag.

Chainsaw duels are random as hell. Sometimes it works sometimes it dosent and sometimes you enter a duel without revving the saw.

No seperate public and ranked matches system, if i want to play and i dont have friends on, what do i do? people in the ranked playlists are almost always too uptight, and i hate competing with out a team, Gears is too tactical to just jump in with 4 random people and play a serious game. Give me the ability to join other rooms, without it being ranked.

I cant choose the gametype i want to play? WTF, this isnt halo3. I dont want to play team tactical or team deathmatch, i want to play execution when i want to play execution and warzone when i want to play warzone.
Voting on the gametype is better than completly random, but seriously, why are they forcing me to play a ranked game in a gametype i dont choose. if they other guys want to play Annex instead of submission, MATCH THEM WITH PEOPLE THAT WANT TO PLAY ANNEX

Fag-taggin just got even more retarded with the "proxy mine" thing. there is no way to avoid the grenade once you set it off... if you slowly creep in and roll backward as soon as you hear the beep, you might avoid it... MIGHT... it still blows me to hell sometimes

All in all, the game feels more like COD or halo than Gears, its much less about tactics this time around and more about running and gunning
