Yup. Greg is at it again. For those who know him, you know what's comin' up. For those who don't let me introduce him:

He is Greg.

A couple of us had become pissed off at him basically telling us that Fox News was the only good news there was on the planet. ABS News? Bullshit. NBC News? Sucks. CBC News? No comments. He even rejected the news coming from a German site he had never heard of before. All this while subtly insulting the ones he was talking to, enough to be a complete pain in the ass, but not enough to justify a warning or a post edit. He had done this for about six or seven thread now, totaling more or less 35 posts.

Friday, my Swiss guy who reads German news posts an article up, translated via Babelfish. It was readable enough, fortunately. Greg comes back to the attack and once again says the source is dubious and yaddah yaddah.

So I uploaded a picture to my website, hit the Reply button and told him to



My post was edited too quickly before he got the chance to see it. The Swiss guy did, and congratulated me by PM. At the same time, one mod and one admin tell me that wasn't a good thing to do. Following that, Greg adds:

"I didn't see what Shurikane posted but I am sure it was craptacular.

Funnily enough, I don't regret what I have done. Shit, I'm the only one to have the nerve to say what I just said. The Swiss guy didn't do it. No matter he sent me his congrats; I'm doing his whole fucking job and getting all the blame for him. What's more disturbing is that I'm ready to go again if Greg pisses me off again. I told him at least three times at PSOW that his attitude just flat out sucked. He didn't listen to me, and eventually got banned. I'm just waiting for that at the other boards. If there's any news posted on any website, Greg's gonna find a way to counter it; even if I say something entirely true like "The PO website uses a blue theme", he'll argue back.

Fuck him. Seriously. He doesn't know how to respect the people he talks to.

Im fairly sure I know the Greg you speak about, and hes the reason ive never visited his omega board, because I jsut cant deal with him. he and I got into it a few times on PSOW, because we are very opinionated and total opposites. I can tolerate him now, but tahts because all ive talked to him on is in teh PSO threads.

if im not mistaken hes talking about someone from anotehr forum that likes to speak his mind, but also believes that hes always the correct one when someone else speak's theirs. No one else is allowed to have an opinion but him...he believes his opinions to be fact Im thinking O_o

Well I took a gander at the post you were mentioning. Now, I don't agree that one source for news is the best line of staying informed, but I read a lot of his posts and he backs things up with written documentation (be it true or false). Unfortunately in a lost of cases people tend to take it personally when someone else has an opposing view. I don't know if he edited his responses but there are some cases where I can respect his POV because he spends an awful lot of time researching it (and if only by one source then it's a pity). I have also seen the opposing sides view on it, and whereas it may be bad blood between the two fueding visions, they both come from passion for what you believe.

I'm not siding with anyone, but I see where you are coming from as well as see where he is coming from. He's opinionated, and strongly so. Which tends to come off as condescending and know it all but he generally has a love for the news, and in most cases, wants to believe every last bit of it with his every being.

The opposing views ride more on emotion than fact, and granted I don't hold strong beliefs that our media feeds us the truth 100%, I don't believe other countries do either. I mean seriously, had all of us believed the Iraqi Information Minister we'd all be burning in Hades right now for being infidels and our goats molesting our stove top dressing.

I don't believe in attacking someone for their view because they can chose to become more educated or stay ignorant - hence the affore mentioned statement. But it is also the responsibility of the person who is trying to educate not to attack the person they are trying to teach.

Not one person is 100% right.
