Jury Duty

So I come home the other day and start sifting through the mail that my mom leaves on my desk while I'm at school, when I come to a letter from the Connecticut Judicial System, or something like that. Not knowing what terrible fate it holds inside, I open it....WHAM! It's a summons to jury duty! I was so pissed then and I still am now, and I've never even had jury duty before. All I know is that I gotta get my ass up to get to some place which they don't even tell you until the week before, on

I dunno what the hell is with my computer lately, but it cut off the post I made for some reason, so here is the post in its entirety....

So I come home the other day and start sifting through the mail that my mom leaves on my desk while I'm at school, when I come to a letter from the Connecticut Judicial System, or something like that. Not knowing what terrible fate it holds inside, I open it....WHAM! It's a summons to jury duty! I was so pissed then and I still am now, and I've never even had jury duty before. All I know is that I gotta get my ass up to get to some place which they don't even tell you until the week before, on June 5 (MY SUMMER, mind you) at 8:30 in the damn morning! What the hell!?!? And then, they may not even pick you to be on a jury, so I could get stuck with more days of getting up earlier than a 20 year old on summer vacation should have to. Then, they have the nerve to say that they could arrest you for not showing up. Come on now, why don't you just pick someone else out of the probably hundreds that are gonna be there. Constitutional duty my ass! Then, to top this all off, I have to send them this little card back that they sent me. You think that they would be considerate enough to pay the postage, since they're already killing one of my days...NO! Not at all. I gotta drag my ass down to the post office and wait in line to buy a freakin' stamp so that I can send something back about something that I don't wanna do in the first place. GOD BLESS FREAKIN' AMERICA!

What I don't understand are the people who are all proud to get jury duty. My mom was telling me how she was all upset when they didn't pick her to serve. Geez! Why don't they just let all THOSE people voluntarily inconvenience themselves? Everyone would be so much happier!

Or you could jsut move like I did! I got a jury summons about a month before i was to move. They wanted me to be there on March 10th...thats the day I was MOVING! I jsut called them and told htem that I was moving to FL, and gave them my address where I would be staying the first couple of weeks, and htey removed me from the list thankfully. I was scared >_<

If you wanna get out of Jury duty just don't register to be a voter. That's where they get yer name from. Or just show up and tell em yer racist against everyone. On one arm have a Swastica in electrical tape and on the other get some markers and draw the Black Panthers logo. On yer chest put the Yakuza symbol and on yer back put the Hammer and fist from the USSR flag.

That'll guarantee that you NEVER get selected for Jury Duty. That or tell them you have a friend that's a cop so yer impartial.

Yeah but what if the trial is a white on white crime? Then yer not really a problem unless they have a Jewish or Black witness trying to vouch for em. The friend that's a cop one is a lot better. Or say you were once raped by a man so you hate all men and no woman will date with you so you hate them too.

So unless the victim/perp is a lotion bottle and some tissue you have nothing to worry about.
