Grandparents - getting rid of my art supplies ;_;

I bought some canvases and paint yesterday

My grandparents threw out the paint and burned the canvases.

They threw out my high-grade pencils.

My light box, my inking pens...

My charcol pencils,

my putty

ALL OF MY ART SUPPLIES

Because they don't want me pursuing art.

First off, I paid for all this stuff with all my own money. I just quit my job two days ago, and as thus, I can't even afford new soft-lead colored pencils.

They won't even let me have paper and pencil.

What does this mean for you? No more art on PO, until I can get another job. (Which is WAY off... )

I mean, I love art, I have talent. This made me cry.

All because they don't want me becoming an artist. They say that I can get my own supplies, but they won't pay for them (note: ONCE AGAIN, THEY DIDN'T PAY FOR THE FIRST SET... )

This pisses me off throughly...

So, probably very little to none art on PO for at least two years. ;_; Unless I can manage to scrap together enough to get new stuff, or I can find someone to buy me new pencils. (yeah, Katana, keep dreamin' )

Man i would so kill my grandparents if they did that to me but mine arnt like that but one and i set her straight she brnt some of my drawing and i chewed her out big time so i think she hates me..but i feel really bad for u though i mean i saw some of ur art and i like it alot!i hope u get the money for new art supplies!im really am soprry for what happend to u....

They may be your grandparents, and you should love them, but what they did was way wrong. Tell em you bought all the stuff they threw away, and they should pay you back the money you spent.

I'm also wondering why they don't want you to become an artist. Seems odd. I can't think of one logical reason.

That was foolish of them, no one should tell another person that they should not go into a particular profession. One of my aunt's fussed one my younger brothers who been doing computers and stuff with me for a long time when he decided to get out of computer and programing and go into Culnary Arts! I find actions such as these people have done very disrespectful. I'm very sorry to hear that this has happened. Don't ever give up on your hopes and dreams, they are the only things that get you buy sometimes.

you should seriously tell them tehy had no right to do that, and since you bought everything with your own money, they owe you some supplies, and you expect them soon. If they still do not want to help you with that, I say find some of thier favorite stuff and destroy it as they did yours. It was disrespectful to you, and yeah maybe its not the most mature approach, but it can help you get your point across. man, I would disown my grandparents if they did something like that to me.

aye my grandparents wouldnt do that to me especially sicne they are one of the few people i really love, (dont care for my parents AT ALL). that sucks, my grandparents encourage me to be free and do whatever is in my heart. your grandparents should at least pay you back the supplies esp. if you were the one who payed for them. did they just randomly come in and throw everything away?

wow, i could never imagine my grandparents doing that to me. thats such a horrible and awful thing to do to someone. i think sciler is right. its immature, and can get you into a lot of trouble, but it will prove your point.

Well your grandparents were definetly in the wrong and should pay you back fo the supplies that they threw out. Although it may be that they are trying to do what they think is best for you. The problem with that is while they are doing it out of love it's wrong. You should never try to force people to do or be something they don't want to be. Why there is a lot of talk about destorying their things to show them how it feels that more then likely would just cause you even more grief.

Since the Grandparents burned her precious items she loved so much then they OBVIOUSLY want her to burn their things or else they wouldn't have done it.

Hell, if yer grandparents are fiesty enough I'd say it's time to bust out the loisville slugger and have a round or two with them. Just before ya do have one of yer friends whip ya with some belts and switches then when the cops try to arrest ya just make a plea that they beat you (And burned all your possessions) to the point where you snapped and had no other choice.... Oh, it's such a good plan I'm almost wishing I had mean grandparents to use it on.
