I decided to take a look at my favorite videogame music, and i think ive got what i love the most (Be wary, most of it is some old school stuff)
#5: Booster's Castle Theme(Super Mario RPG) - Your in this weird shaped castle, which has some nice elevator music in it, when all of a sudden, a train comes in, and a butt-ugly dude with a face that resembles a totem pole comes in, and what music fits better than this song. Mischevious and funny, it fits Booster perfectly.
#4: Chocobo fight song(Final Fantasy VII) - This has been a favorite for me since i could remeber. I still remember the first time i encountered the big yellow bird that would serve as a transport for a portion of the game. The music, almost sounding like surfing music in the beginning, kick in with a cheerful and playful tune, which fits the Chocobo very nicely.
#3: Theme from Zero Wing(Zero Wing) - Despite the amazingly horrific butchering of the English language, this game actually has some really good music to it. The beginning music is really cool, and has a catchy beat to it
#2: Sephiroth's Theme(Final Fantasy VII) - Really eerie music, the first time I heard it, i actually shuddered at its really deep bell sound, and the scary sounding chorusy sound. It is quite the amazing song though, as it kind of instill the lunacy of Sephie with its augmentations and eerieness
#1: Magus' Theme(Chrono Trigger) - This would have to be my favorite videogame tune. It just fits the character so well, and just has such a awesome sound. And the combination of the tune with Magus in AD 600, right before your first boss encounter with him, and Magus' in-game text. It just only adds to that effect that is just so awesome about Magus.
Well, argue as much as ya want on my views, but its my opinion!!!
j/k...so what do you guys like most in the videogame music industry?

I think Ill have to say Megaman 2 and 3 Title themes. Those were awesome !! hehe And Megaman X Storm Eagle. I love that song, but last and not least Crash Man's theme in MM2. I think its kinda sticky and cool. Me and my cousin used to sing it all the time. Those were the days...
I think almost all MM songs are cool, but those are my fav's.
And Contra games, the 2nd level of the 1st game... I love that song !!! haha !!

Being a major RPG guy myself, I have to say that Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu (along with all of their collaborators) do stellar jobs on the games that they do. I think that covers most everything that I like... |

Well, sifting through the junk in my folders, i found an orchestrated version of Crono's theme and Cloud's theme...both of which are absolutely phenominal! Now if i could only get my school's orchestra to do Magus' theme

You'll need some very confident strings to do that, Tobias. |

Besides, most teachers wouldn't think twice about turning it down if it were from a video game. Our amrching band director always looks a bit odd at the bass bone who can play both the themes from Super Mario 2 and 3, the trumpets who play Super Mario 1, the bones that can do Zelda, etc... |

My cousin brought Freedom Fighters yesterday, and I have to say I was suprised by the cool techno russian mix in that game! Without those musics, I guess that game wouldn't feel the same ...
