A plum tree and a mysterious ghost

A young boy is seen under the shade of a beautiful, in full bloom, plum tree. he appears to be praying. On the otherside of him it appears a young girl is watching him. He seems to not see her. He falls to hims knees seemingly in pain. Now a band of white prayer cards is visible around the trunk of the tree. The girl appears to be crying. A strong gust of wind blows and and plum blossoms blow about the young man. He turns around, eyes closed, and leans aginest the trunk of the tree. He is breathing hard. Finally he stand and goes to get some wood...

*A week later*
A small make shift Shrine has been buils here. A Torii is standing prominately outside in front of the tree. Another in front of the shrine. The same boy is presnt however his ponytail is at the base of his neck and he is wearing traditional shrine attire. The girl is no where to be seen. Plum blossoms cover the ground. The boy sighs and goes about sweeping...

Tobias wanders by. He had surely never seen this before in his travels.

He walks up to the shrine cafefully, keeping his wits about himself as he nears the boy sweeping

"Boy...may i trouble you for you name...and the name of this shrine which has been erected not too long ago?"

The boy looks up a bit startled. He looks pale and abit sickly. "My name is... wait stranger why is it that you desire my name?" the boy's hand instinctively goes to his katana which isn't there. He sighs "This shrine... it's well... I have my reasons for building it here." He glances back over his shoulder at the tree and turning back to the stranger and senseing no malintent from him..."My name is Kai. This shrine was built becasue I sensed a strong kami around this tree. I am in search of 7 precious kami. Each one is very very special to the survival of the planet and if even one were to fall into the wrong hands..." Kai shudders, "it would most definately spell disaster. If you need to rest I have a spare room in the shrine and some food, water, and a simple rice wine. And... I wouldn't mind a traveling companion..."

Tobias shooks his head: "I am sorry my good Kai...i cannot assist you at the moment...i have my own agendas i need to keep in touch with...may our paths cross at somepoint later, yes?"

He admires the shrine, and walks off

Tobias stops in his tracks. Turning around to Kai, he speaks: "You know...where are you headed to? maybe i can accompany you to there? I do need to continue my explorations anyways...so what do you say?"

Startled "I... Well I really don't know. Once i pure the soul from this tree it's were ever i must I suppose. All over. Ultimately I will be in a fight with this one woman. There is a song-legand about her:

And that's how it goes. I suppose I'll have to kill her in the end." Kai looks the stranger up and down. Noticeing his great sword. "I suppose it's obvious but... Could you kill someone? You might have to if you're going traveling with me. By they way... I haven't gotten your name yet."

Unaware that a great love song had just been sung, a purple-haired cat girl come traipsing (or however you spell that) up the hill. "Oh! What a lovely tree!" She approaches, then notices the other two. "Oh! Hello. Sorry, I did not see you. Am I disturbing you?" She looks up at them, wide-eyed like a lost kitten.

Hiding in the distance Dyess carefully watches teh three at the srhine, paying close attention to kai. "so the hunt for the 7 kami has alredy begun" slowly he closes his eyes and lets out a small laugh. "I may get some entertainment out of this town yet"
