People are SO stupid and irresponsible. Forget the driver, I want to know what moron let this guy get behind the wheel when he's that drunk!
I honestly enjoy a drink or two like anyone else but you've got to use some common sense and responsibility when you do drink.
Our circle of friends watch out for each other and wouldn't have anyone drinking and driving. |

It irritates me that so many states have a "three strikes" program for DUI. Yes, some people learn after the first time they're arrested and spend a couple nights in jail for it, but not all of them. I know someone who was arrested and did a little jail time, and it did him NO good. In fact, if nothing else, it caused him to drink MORE. Or at least be more obvious about it.
My driver's ed teacher sophomore year (Link's as well considering he was in my class) told us not to drink and drive, but also told us that if we insisted on doing it, to at least be smart about it. Things like if it's below freezing, don't go driving down the road with your window down because YOU think it's warm. Also, remember to turn your headlights on. It was very very odd to hear coming from a teacher. (sex ed later that year consisted of a lot of times "don't put all your eggs in one basket" being yelled at us during the girls only portion) I do believe she said at one point "If you're going to be stupid enough to do it, don't be an idiot about it" or something to that effect. |

I don't remember how long it takes for the body to process alcohol (I think 1 hour) but you can do your part in being more responsible about it and drink lots of water afterward and just wait it out.
Drink early on...swap to water, then just chill for several hours while you drink your water. The water will help replenish the fluids that the alcohol takes out. |
