Exactly, the way I see it, we cud have Rio, JT and Stevie G all as captains, and not be committed to pick them all the time. |

Rumours are suggesting he's going for the following:
....................James
Brown Ferdinand Upson Cole
..................Hargreaves
Bentley Gerrard Cole Young
..................Rooney
Quite an interesting line-up, certainly looks strong defensively, but with the possibility of some flair, like an Italien club team then.... |

Last nights performance was much better, I felt, than many people are claiming. Ignoring the scoreline, Kazakhstan played out of their skins, they defended well (in large numbers, although not as large as Andorra who had their whole squad behind the ball for the majority of the game) and were well organised when going forward, it really was a lesson in tiring them out and then the goals would come, which is what we had in the end. I hate how the England fans boo the team off if it's still 0-0 at half time, teams that defend as Andorra and Kazakhstan are incredibly difficult to break down. Rooney, Walcott and Heskey aside there wasn't any good individual performances, last night was all about an overall team performance and you can't argue with 9 points out of 9 and a tally of 11 goals scored in 3 games with only 2 conceeded! |

Indeed, well put.
I am excited by the idea of 3 strikers, Walcott and Rooney played well off of Heskey |

Another good result last night Belarus 1 - 3 England, thats 4 wins in 4 now
Rooney was great again, as was Heskey, annoyed at how much fwapping the commentators did over Gerrard, I felt he was selfish in every aspect of his game last night, aside from one occasion, that being when he passed to Rooney in that wonderful move for Rooney's second (?).
His goal was selfishly taken, then he tried it again shortly after even though there were players in better positions, then later in the game when he should have made it four (he hit the post of an open goal) he could easily have squared it to Crouch who would only have to roll it in. It wasn't just attacking that there were problems either, I don't remember seeing him put a tackle in once, Lampard was intercepting the ball all night long, and all he ended up doing was making Bridge's job much harder than it should have been, especially in that 30 minutes of the game where they looked truly threatening (and just how good were they on the ball when they had it!?!?!).
I do like the player, but I think he expects total freedom to do what he likes and have the team adapt to him, especially recently, and I don't think his position within the Liverpool squad helps that at all, I think it increases his ego more than anything. |
