You Atlantians just assume once it's cold/warm it should stay that way till your calendars say otherwise. |
That's understandable, you know, sunlight and all, but the temperature in Atlanta I believe went DOWN from 6am to noon. That's quite unnatural, and really weird.
I mean, it was just for a day, but it was crazy. |

I think it's less worrying that it got cold again than it is that we had tornadoes last Saturday, snow this past Monday, and then 75+ degree temperature today. The weather is just changing -so- quickly and being -so- severe that it's a little crazy. |

Yeah with all the changes in temprature and humidity has caused all my scar tissue to tighten up like guitar strings.
Arizona does not get that that cold in winter. It gets to be about 60-70, and snow there is rarer than Florida. Well unless you are in the nothern part up on the Rockies, and that is caused by elevation.
Also, deserts always have strong temperature changes between night and day. Heat radiates out as soon as the sun goes down. It is very abnormal to have such extremes in a temperate environment with significant rainfall. Snow in springtime in Atlanta is damn near unheard of. |

LOL! Yeah. And maybe he did invent the internet too. In all seriousness though I do believe we are getting closer to another ice age. It probably won't happen for another 1000 years but the earth is definitely changing, with or without us. |

How far into the future are we responsible for caring? 'cause people always say "well, it might not effect you, but it will effect your children's children!" But unless Florida starts pumping some of that old fashioned fountain of youth, I think my children's children will be dead within 1000 years.
Side note: Today is perfect hammock weather. If you have the joy of owning a hammock, or can bum off someone who has one, get to hammockin' instead of computering. |

I'm not saying that we are responsible for caring. I guess I believe that the earth will be able to survive even after we made our imprint. I mean it has survives meteor strikes, floods, everything! And still the planet has thrived with life, human and otherwise. |

Being what a plant and garden addict I am, this weather makes me leary. i at least learn from last year;s April freeze not to plany anything until it hit.
At least this year it wasn't so bad. It just sucks to see a nice new plant coming up and then have it slapped back by the cold.
This week has been rather strange in the temperature shifts...freezing temps early in the week then 75 by Wed/Thurs, now is a breezy 62 with clouds ready to rain.
I planted my stuff yesterday and this morning, maybe Mother Nature will help out with this effing Water Ban and rain on my new plants for me. |
