Well Motts, thats not really worth talking about. You could play with your friends on ranked matches on Gears 1, it just didn't have a party system. But then again, who really cares if you're playing ranked now? Does seeing a little icon next to your name really get you that excited? In Gears 1 playing ranked made SENSE because THAT IS WHERE you got the ACHIEVEMENTS. In Gears 2 do you have to play ranked to get the achievements? HELL NO, you can play with fucking BOTS and get the achievements so really what is the point? Gay still. |

I don't think Multiplayer achievements are really something to complain about. What about the people that don't have online... should they be excluded from achievements b/c there's no high speed internet in their area.
Just my thought. |

Shino, I'm not complaining about it. I agree with that, but in Gears 1 some/most of the achievements came from RANKED only matches, didn't matter how many times you did the deed in the game, only ONLINE RANKED that isn't the case anymore, in Gears 2 you can get all of the achievements online or offline. So why does it matter if you're playing ranked? Which is the only way to get a full game going unless you have 9 other friends that all want to play as well. But if you dont then you're stuck using bots which are really dumb even on INSANE difficulty. Private matches dont show up to the search. Gay. |

I may be a minority, and in fairness, I haven't played it that much yet, but I've had a few sessions on multi player with my friends and I've really enjoyed it.
I love the fact bots are in, as now when we have 6 or 7 people, we can just add a few bots to fill up the game, as we prefer to play with our set group.
Will comment more once I've played it more, but so far, I'm a fan.
And yes, I played a fair bit of GoW 1 multi as well |

Most people who are interested in being ranked are just that... interested in being ranked... they will play the ranked games anyway.
For instance... I suck at shooters... I wouldn't want to play ranked games just to see how bad I am. So for Gears 1, I wouldn't have access to those achievements... but with Gears 2, I do. That's a pro in my book.
I mean I understand where you're coming from, but the competitive people are still going to be there. This is just going to bring in more players that want to play more for fun and less for being ranked. You should actually see more games out there as more copies sell. There's probably more games now than there were a month after Gears 1 came out. |
