Really? Your school had no PE? That's very odd. I don't think I've ever seen a school (besides College) that didn't have a PE class and it was required.
I think that Tobias has a good idea: Gym is a nice break for your day from academics. That's a really good way to look at it. The reason I waived gym, though, was because I already had a break from academics: Music, and it took up too much time to have to do that AND PE. It's those special intrests that will kill you.
