I don't hear much preaching in Creed songs. I have all three of Creed's albums, and I haven't really come across any of that. So in my opinion, you're just using that as an excuse. Next, your point about being "nice to your enemy" is completely valid. That's the way Christians are supposed to behave. But the sad truth is that its pretty hard to act this way. You try it for one day and see if you can do it. I'm sure freakin' Catholic priests have a hard time sometimes being kind to those who put them down and ridicule. Stapp is not a priest, and only a regular human being. It is our own nature to be angry and retaliate at those which frustrate and anger us. Like I already said...I agree totally that the correct thing to do is just let things go. I think of myself to be fairly religious, and still...I can't just let things go like that because its HARD. People do things out of frustration all the time, because no one gives them any other options. I think of myself to be fairly laid-back, and a pretty nice guy, for the most part. But if you back me into a corner with something, I WILL explode because that's the only logical way out of the situation. Stapp really didn't say anything HALF as bad as Durst did, and so what if he wrote him letters and sent him and anger management manual? At least he didn't throw punches. The Bible says that its a sin to be Proud...but this doesn't mean that ANY form of pride will send me to hell. If I'm proud of my kid for getting an A, that's fine. If I'm proud that I got a promotion, that's fine. You can't always take everything that the Bible says as literal, and unfortunately, the people who put it down the most, or believe in it the least, are the ones that try to throw things like that in people's faces, solely for the purpose of winning arguments. |

you think catholic priests have a hard time? i could think of several witty retorts, but ill say this:
the priests who teach at my school dont have a hard time. i know its a valid point because its the one thing that keeps me out of catholicism. |

This conversation is over due to my lack of caring. You're right...it is 2 years old, so who the hell cares anyway? I'll still listen to Creed and think that Scott Stapp is fine, and I obviously can't change your mind, so why continue wasting the effort? |
