well see i dont want to entirely knock anyone who is in thier 20s and at home. Hell, I moved out at 17, then moved back home at 20, moved out at 21 and moved back again at 22 lol, but now Im in FL for good. But I guess as long as you are at least trying to be your own person, and not just mooching off your parents, tehn its not a bad thing.

I'm 19, and if I can get that garbage man job I want, I'll be a happy man, and will go live alone, well, with my gf if possible but for now, she has to go to school for the next 3 years, so she'll stay with her parents helping her father, I might also help financially if I can. But one thing is for sure, for as long as I am staying with my mom, I'm paying a rent, and I'm far from against that. That's the least I can do to help her tolerate, me ever since I turned 18 ^^;;

Don't knock being 23 and still living at home, as Sciler mentioned. I don't think that there is anything wrong with living at home after college...but to a certain degree. There's a fine line between living at home and mooching. I plan on living at home after college for probably at least a year. I'm not going to do it because I'm mooching though. I plan on living at home because I know I won't have to pay for rent/utilities/food, etc. (I WILL give my parents some money every month, as we have already discussed...I wouldn't see it any other way, actually...) By living at home, I'll be able to save A LOT of money, which I can put towards getting my own place, because I don't plan on ever living in an apartment. My first residence WILL be my own house, because I don't believe in apartments that much, for reasons I won't bring up right now. I can also save up to get my own car, etc.

And Righty, I can understand what you're going through. I'm not sure who said it (I think Sciler) but you have to give your sis a taste of her own medicine. If she lays into you for something, throw it right back into her face. Who cares if she starts crying? That's the least she can do after what she has, obviously, put you through. And don't listen to guilt trips, because most of the time they're just BS. So what if she has done so much for your family...it doesn't give her the right to treat you like crap. And tell her that! Sometimes being harsh is the only way to get something through someone's head.

i never said living at home is sad, i said my sisters case is, she doesnt move when she has enough money to do so, and she doesnt pay a dime here.

i mean really. 23 she should at least have a f r i e n d to live with, and a job to help pay rent. parents should make her pay rent since she's that old. esp. if shes bitchy
