COOL! I wanna see the anime channel!!!! Yeah I strongly dislike MTV! IN my opinion they try 2 brainwash all pre- adults and teens 2 think and dress and act alike. I hate it. I like being different! Oh and the reality shows really suck!  |

Well, my take on this is that it's society's fault. Like it was said...when MTV came out, it was cool, but it has unfortunately evolved into the spewing mass of teen-pop crap that it has become today. Why? Well, because stupid people decided to like the crappy music that they have become known for playing. What's the solution to this problem? Get every influential 13 year old (generalization) to stop listening to crappy music like Britney, Christina, Back Door...I mean...Street Boys, N'Sync, etc., and get them to appreciate good stuff. Then, MTV will be forced to revert to its old ways.
Now, I don't remember if it was mentioned or not, but I would like to bring something up: the concept of "selling out". Let me reiterate something to some people, just because a band is played on MTV doesn't mean that it "sold out". I hate it when people can go from liking a band to hating them, just because they became mainstream. Half of the people who bitch about this have no clue what the hell they're talking about. So what if the band wants to make some money doing what it loves? Who woulnd't? They have to eat too...
And finally, most of the shows on MTV suck balls, but there are a couple of goodies, from past and present. The Osbournes is actually a pretty funny show. Another great show that unfortunately isn't on anymore, I think, was Celebrity Death Match. Pure genius...we need more quality programming like this. Tom Green was also great, and its good to see that he's making a comeback.
But I digress...if music videos are what you want, there are better channels out there. MTV2 is pretty good, and MuchMusic is probably the best. VH1 used to be good, but unfortunately it's falling into the same trap as MTV... |

Because it was "Not a priority" they upgraded the network for Digital Cable but not to make it an information network. |

What kinda lame ass freaks are runnin that company?! Information is WAY more important than TV...Besides, you can watch TV on the internet with a cable connection.
